Nope. Anything related to Destiny doesn’t go to OffTopic. OffTopic is for things that literally don’t go anywhere else (other games, politics, random things, etc.). #Lore is now the [u]OFFICIAL[/u] Bungie-sanctioned home of FanFic, whether I like it or not.

As long as there’s connections to the game: whether it’s lore, crucible, weapons, armour. Heck even news. Off topic will attack it.

Personally I believe we should have a place on these forums exclusively for fanfics this way those who want to read them can and those who prefer canonical lore can enjoy it as well

Your response says a lot. There is no such thing as non-canonical lore. Lore is by its definition canon and that’s why fanfiction has no place here. There is a creations tab and that should be expanded into its own section and have a place for fanfic. A forum is a place for discussion and feedback not for you to post your work. If you guys need people to know some headcanon about why your character wears a certain shader, I think that’s incredibly self involved and even more so to think the ideal place to post it in an area dedicated to the [i]actual[/i] lore of the game. I am all for creativity but petition Bungie for a space to do it or better yet, petition for more customisation and personalised story in-game but please, don’t post your stuff here, despite what you might think, it’s not the place.

The reason writers are moving to #Lore is because Bungie has publicly designated it the new home for fanfiction. Now I agree that it kind of gets in the way of actual lore conversation. I myself am a lore enthusiast and this is far from an ideal situation. However, it is worth noting that a lot of us write fanfiction because we wish to expand on the lore we love so much, or even fill in some gaps because let's be honest, there's a lot of gaps. Either way, makes for a good story if you tell it right. So, until Bungie decides to create a new space for writers, let's get along as best we can in #Lore.
