I said it once and I'll say it a million times, Oryx's brood died out without anyone taking the throne. My theory that the Hive on Titan are making a war moon out of the place to launch a full scale invasion on the Dreadnought still stands
English
-
How that makes no sense lots of people say this but it makes no sense
-
What do you mean?
-
How would the brood have died off how it makes no sense most of people’s reasons are tribute which doesn’t make sense (don’t know if they all know how it works) but maybe you with your lore knowledge can provide a better reason
-
If a Hive acolyte/thrall/knight/wizard etc. Doesn't kill or cause destruction, the worm inside their head will start eating them from the inside out. If the worm eats them then they die, plane and simple
-
Yeah and why can’t they cause destruction? If anything the brood is thriving due to the influx of enemies think of all the guardians on titan they killed and all the red legion soldiers
-
Those Hive on titan belong to savathun, not Oryx. Everything they kill gets sent to savathun and her army's, not Oryx's. Oryx and Crotas brood had no one leading them, meaning they couldn't organize full scale attacks large enough to feed the entire brood. The Cabal pulled what remained of the sky burners out of the Dreadnought, the probably didn't reinforce the line because it was pointless and they already had a mission to do, thus the Hive died out due to no Cabal or really anything non hive related to kill
-
Ok but oryxes brood in the dreadnought were not the only ones in fact much of the brood is scattered maybe even joined with savathun plus they can still fly their grave ships out plus it’s very easy to feed acolytes and thralls
-
Correct! But why would the Hive that abandoned Oryx's brood give them tribute to stay alive? The Hive don't care about eachother like that. Crotas hive on the moon died out because they literally had no one to fill his place after we killed him and literally all his disciples. The hive on earth relied on Oryx and Crota to tell them what to do and where to attack, hell in rise of iron you can see brood Queens leaving the surface trying to escape the chaos. A chaos that under any other condition the hive would have adored, but because no one was leading them the got picked clean by the splicers
-
Crotas brood is fine they are probably fighting the red legion and exiles but oryxes are probably fighting the legion on planets we don’t moniter
-
How are they fine?! They have no one leading them, and why would the Red Legion deploy any solders on the moon? There's nothing to gain there that they don't already know from sky burner reports on the Dreadnought. Crotas dead, his heart is dead, his hand and first are dead, his might is dead, his blade is dead, everyone's dead! The only person who could potentially be alive is Omnigul, which would be cool to see her come back but even she can't feed a brood single handedly
-
Why would they need a leader they don’t need a leader to feed a brood that makes no sense, also the red legion would take the moon as an insurance policy because they have been shown to use moons as weapons before like they were prepared to do on mars so wouldn’t in make sense to have a contingency plan for the last city
-
Dude! A brood of thousands can't sustain itself without direct orders and consistent attacks! They need order! They can't just go in a different directions and murder everything they see, that can't sustain the brood much less even one Knight
-
Actually that probably could sustain a brood that’s more or less what they do even with leadership plus crota has the entire house of exiles to wipe out
-
The exiles are probably the strongest they've ever been, considering everyone else joined house dusk
-
Which does support the new Hive leader *cough cough* Savathun *cough cough* to move in and take over the Dreadnought. And the Brood of Oryx could have survived by killing the prisoners of the Dreadnought, but they certainly would not be called the Brood of Oryx anymore
-
They could survive on killing eachother as well, which if that's the case then say goodbye to only one united brood on Oryx's ship
-
That would be the best case scenario on the Dreadnought
-
For the Hive, yes
-
For us too. Means less problems for going back there
-
Well the better scenario would be they all died after the Red Legion pulled the sky burners out. But I'll take what we can get haha
-
I thought the Hive killed all the Skyburners?
-
The lore tab on skyburners oath implies that the Red Legion picked up the survivors and awarded their loyalty with a one way ticket into the legion
-
Haven’t read it in a while so that explains it
-
Makes sense haha, it needs a buff imo
-
Yeah it does. It was so cool for 5 minutes. Then I went back to Sunshot
