I am sure many players believe that Bungie severing ties with Activision is a good thing but, Forsaken is the product of the loss revenue from Activision.
It is clear that after the lack-luster launch and sales of Forsaken Activision started turning the flow of money off to Bungie. They had to reduce the size of development teams and reduce the amount of content to meet release dates. The clear result is the Black Armory DLC and Forsaken as a whole.
Destiny's content will further suffer now that Bungie is in sole control of the entity. They do not have the financial capital to produce a full AAA title like Destiny. Furthermore, it is clear that we will never see dedicated servers or large dungeon maps ever again from this company.
Anthem simply cannot drop fast enough now that it is clear that Bungie will never be able to compete at a level for AAA gaming. Bungie will be forced to reduce Destiny to nothing more than an Indy game hoping to survive on the revenues from expansions for Destiny 1 and 2 while never expanding the franchise beyond that.
I am laughing out loud and all the fan boi trolls today who berated every player on the forums that the changes in Forsaken would not be the death of Destiny. The news today is a clear indication that Bungie has destroyed the title and Destiny will not last after the release of Anthem.
While Destiny will continue on in fragmented portions of its former glory it will never return to the millions of gamers from Destiny 1. It will not even be able to compete in a PVP aspect with games like PUBG or Fortnite because they don't have the capital to support dedicated servers.
Bungie officially killed Destiny and for all of you fan bois ROFLMFAO. Enjoy your catered to pinnicle weapons for they are what killed this franchise. No other gaming company will ever listen to you trolls again after the way Bungie fell to your ignorant requests. I will not be buying anymore Destiny expansions or games because now there will not be any. Oh, and all you losers that killed this game, go play a PVP game and stay the hell away from Anthem and every other decent title coming out since you losers only destroy everything you are invovled in. Toxic loser streamers and trash killed Destiny, may it forever RIP.

Didn’t that AAA company give up on Anthem entirely because of how poorly it was made? And the now Indie dev, Bungie, still has hundreds of thousands of players daily? “Anthem was gonna kill Destiny” 😂 This aged well. Nice to see your idiocy displayed front and center for all of us to see.
-
This aged well. How many raids are there now?

1 ReplyYou're an idiot

2 RepliesLets see in the next months.. seems they going to join microsoft again.
-
1 ReplyYou've got a valid point here, but you go and ruin it with hyperbolic nonsense about Anthem. Destiny could get so much better, or Bungie could turn in to the next Gearbox Software. It wouldnt hurt for Bungie to prepare an official statement regarding its future plans for D2, 3, and beyond. Until they do, people shouldn't even try to speculate whats going to happen. Its not a bad thing to have back up games out there to play, but we havent even played an Anthem beta.

4 RepliesForsaken didint have bad sales? It was the most played console game in September with 1 million players the first 2 weeks? The only reason acticision said it didint reach goals is because activision goals are 1 billion. And bungie dosent have the capability to make a triple a game? Where the hell did you get any of this information, did you make it up?
-
7 RepliesI believe that 2 mil players that log in everyday might disagree with your statements .
-
3 RepliesYeah dude, Destiny is so dead that Microsoft made a statement saying they were excited for the future 30 minutes later. Definitely gonna kill the franchise. /s
-
1 ReplyYou’ve got a point, however if you paid any attention to the language in Bungie’s announcement, you would see that they plan to continue with the Destiny franchise. While the direction they take with it and for how long they choose to continue with it are questionable, they obviously have some plans for at least the next year or so
-
2 RepliesDoesn't Anthem have its own forums?
-
1 ReplyMost if not all of my favorite games are non AAA. So if bungie can’t make another AAA game? Fine by me.

Edited by W33DEDPLAGUE: 1/12/2019 5:51:43 AMLol, the all-knowing master of gaming is here. It's good...I guess... because ironically, you're calling out others for exactly what you are doing...thinking you know what's best for the game. Good to know someone in the community has access to insider knowledge of Bungies finances, thanks for for the info. BTW, Forsaken was the best selling game/expansion of September...in a game that fumbled it's launch and lost a major chunk of its playerbase and had already been out for a year. So...whatever you say Mr. Wise man

2 RepliesI so enjoy the loser toxic trolls who continue to comment on a post after they have been muted. Imbeciles always continue to try and talk even after the facts have shut them down. Losers will always be losers.
-
1 ReplyShow us on the doll where Bungie/whoever touched you as a child.
muted
I'm with you too. Tuesday was the last time I logged in and I'm done. I figure I had 100% as far as trophies go and there is no point to put another second into it. There will be no Destiny 3 for me either.
-
I wouldn’t make the deal if that was the case.
-
Yeah. I see massive layoffs at bungie in the next couple months.

7 RepliesThe lack of dedicated servers kills me. Even after updates ceased for Friday the 13th the Game, it got dedicated servers. It has to be greed!
-
3 RepliesNice rant
-
1 ReplyOh they do have the money all right. They’re just keeping it to themselves. They always have, and they always will. Minimum viable products until they die.
PS: was there news today that I missed aside from the split? You mentioned pinnacle weapons.
4 RepliesOhhh popcorn....

They do not have the financial capital to produce a full AAA title like Destiny.
Where did you get this information?

5 RepliesWe will see what happens and what Bungie is capable of pulling off. The Witcher series, Horizon Zero Dawn, Bloodborne/Dark Souls were all developed without the big money flowing in from publishers like Activision or EA. Maybe now Bungie can stick to a vision of what Destiny should be and find its audience without constant reboots to the story and mind boggling changes that do nothing but frustrate us. I don’t have much confidence in Bungie but the opportunity is there for them.

5 RepliesSpoilers a month after release EA gives the green light for microtransactions... pay to win... :p

Think Anthem is the new Destiny
