I think people who watch streamers are pathetically lonely and are only trying to fill the void that the lack of real social stimuli causes. They are not particularly self aware either because who would sit there and watch someone play video games? It truly is empty and sad.

Is there any difference watching someone playing a video game and watching someone playing a sport? They’re literally both playing games that in reality mean nothing.
-
I would partially agree with you in only theory except that the value of being involved in athletics is far superior to video games. Video games are entertainment, but sports promote fitness, team work, discipline, coordination , comradery, and more. Not that video games cannot give some of that, it’s just different.

This was hard to read

Sports promote fitness to athletes not fans. And literally every other thing you described is shown in video games.
-
That’s exactly why I wrote “being involved in sports”. If you participate in athletics, watch, play, train, it is far more conducive to a positive , healthy lifestyle and I’m not even sure why you’re debating it. Video games offer some of those things but it’s an entire different level because you don’t have to offer blood and sweat to excel at them.
-
That was never in question. What I said was there’s no difference in “watching” either one of these activities.
-
I can understand watching the highest levels of gaming though, but watching streamers, that’s sorry.

You could be watching your alma mater, you friends or family, or just be interested in learning more about the game so you can improve in it. Sports fans can be far more pathetic imo too. Especially those people painting their faces , fighting and cheering real loud. Those people are way more pathetic.
