Technically, DLC stands for downloadable content.... so really, any expansions or content that didn't come in a physical form (such as a disc) is by definition "DLC".

If an expansion or add on or extra content can be downloaded, It is by definition "downloadable content" (DLC). There is no industry standard or an exact definition for the term. It's a general term that can encompass many different types of content that is delivered via a download instead of physical media.

Did you not notice on the season pass for D2 it said "expansion 1" and "expansion 2," not "DLC 1" and "DLC 2."

I have no need to "consult the internet", friend. I have more than 13 years in game development with one of the major console developers. I am not trying to argue with you, simply inform you. There is no industry standard for the term DLC. All content delivered via download and not physical media is DLC. However you feel you need to classify it is fine with me, though it may be a misconception of the facts.

That being said and expansion (even though it's still downloaded) and plain jane DLC are still considered to be two different things. I've made this clear prior; feel free to stop wasting my time.
