Who cares at this point. Don't play it if you don't like it, play it if you do. Bethesda has said over and over that is is a side game and isn't how they are going forward. It was an experiment on how well multiplayer works and well, it needs a lot of work, but we all knew this would happen and I am very surprised why people are surprised it turned out the way it did.

A $60 experiment that is terrible. Remember Ark? That thing is STILL in beta and has dlc’s and costs $60. It still works better than the fully released fallout 76. Who thought it was a good idea to get rid of the fun characters and exciting side quests? It’s literally the best part of a fallout game. Your basically playing $60 to listen to a bunch of holotapes and grinding for literally no reason. It’s worse than any other end game debacle then Destiny has ever pulled. And we care because we enjoy fallout, and like Bethesda. We’ve wanted a good fallout multiplayer for so long, but instead we got an empty, glitchy mess. We still want it to be better, we want to like it. That’s why we care.

yeah and FO76's DLC will be free....
-
“Free” There are already in game transactions. It just release led and there’s already stuffed locked behind a paywall. Nah, that ain’t free.
-
yeah and FO76's DLC will be free....
The game should've been free in the state its in.

Ark was officially release last year.
Who cares at this point.
Plenty of people. The game came out a week ago, it's still topical.
Don't play it if you don't like it
You don't have to worry about that.
Bethesda has said over and over that is is a side game
Regardless of the fact that it's not a direct sequel, it's still a full price game and a substantial entry into the Fallout series.
but we all knew this would happen
Plenty of people were sceptical, sure, but I don't think that anybody genuinely expected Bethesda to fuck it up this badly. We're not only talking about one of the biggest triple A studios here, but formerly one of the most respected ones as well. This barely functioning "game" wasn't fit for early access, let alone for full release. The fact that Bethesda saw fit to even put 76 on sale is indicative of the myriad problems that the company's been accumulating over the past decade, which's culminated in possibly the most egregious major release in recent memory. Given the fact that they're doubling down with their next two games, they're not showing signs of improving either.

Did they say that before or after all the criticism from the Beta?
-
They said this at E3 I'm pretty sure, so yes. Do people not pay attention?
-
Got a source?
-
just google it.
-
No, that's not how supporting your claim works. I'm not sorting through an entire E3 briefing to try and find the 5 seconds where they would have said what you claim they said, especially when you're not even 100% positive it happened.

You don't have to let everyone else do research for you and in fact it is far better to do your own, so you don't get any biased results.
-
You don't have to let everyone else do research for you
It's YOUR claim, so YOU should be providing the source. Period.
-
It was a fact everyone interested in the game should have known from the start.
-
Well that's part of the problem isn't it? Not that many people ARE interested because of the game not following its theme that has a proven track record. Still, when you make a claim about a fact, you shouldn't get all bitchy when someone wants to know where you heard it from. That's what sourcing is for.
-
I don't think a source is even needed (though they've said it various times). They've mentioned how experiential the game is to be, pretty obvious it's a spin-off too. Multiplayer kind of confirms that, no npcs kind of confirms that. It'd take an idiot to not see it as a spin off case it doesn't share much to the mainline series. I wouldn't be surprised though if people watered down the definition of a spin off though.

Edited by NobodyJustBrad: 11/23/2018 6:48:18 PMA spin-off that was introduced with, "I know why you're all really here; to talk about the next Fallout game." With no other announcenent of a "real" game, it is clearly not labeled as a spin-off. Did you hear about Blizzard dropping the ball and losing 1.8 Billion dollars in a day from the Diablo Immortals announcement? That was for basically the same reason that F76 is getting all this criticism; because it was marketed as a full experience for its core audience when it is, in fact, not.
