Why would a website made for a video game have a dedicated fanfiction area?

Community creations exist does it not? This is also in the Bungie companion app. Or is that question sarcasm?

Perhaps people just want to share their creations with the friends they've made in #lore?

The problem arises when trending is filled with fan made lore rather than cannon and a percentage does have any #FanFic tags on it causing some readers to believe it may be cannon

The sarcasm comment comes from the usual Bungie comments you see all over the forums putting them down etc.

No, no, no. You’re fine I do appreciate the conversation being civilized, but while me and you could easily put the #FanFic not everyone will which causes the problem of people getting confused.

I'm sure if we politely told them to add it and explain why, I'm sure the would #lore is one of the more civilized groups on the forum, they would understand

Well, I think you've seen a pretty fair representation of fic-writers. There has been a couple rude ones( tho most of the jerks on our side are the readers, not writers it seems) but the rest of us are very open to compromise and possible change. I for one will always add #fanfiction on my work from now on so dont worry about me lol! I think the rest will be open to the change. If you're willing to spearhead your side with not down voting all of us, than I will spearhead my side with keeping it tagged with #fanfiction best I can!

Yeah all we have to do is say "hey nice read although maybe you should add #fanfic to that post? Just so newbies don't get confused and think this is cannon" It's all about the presentation my friend 👌
