I agree, but this community absolutely hates snipers. They would much rather ape around all day and turn this into an FPS version of bumper cars with shotguns than to see sniping make a resurgence. Part of it is bungie’s fault for final round snipers and icebreaker metas, but part of this is this damn community’s resistance to growth because they’ve been so scarred from 4 years of nonstop nerfs and Cringe metas. Besides, even if you were to buff snipers you’ve still got the map design problems.

Taking advantage of the weapons power by aggressively 'maining' them should be discouraged. What happened in Y2 of D1 should never be repeated and Bungie knows this. Only the most skilled people should be able to do that. They also want to be able to counter them by doming you in the head. (Which should flinch you)

I agree but a sniper rifle from long distance should not suffer from pulse rifle flinch! I repeat from long distance! Somebody did not understand that a sniper rifle should be the best choice for long range engagement! The best special weapon balance by the way was in the first part of Rise of Iron where was possibile to use shotgun,sniper an fusion rifle at the same level gap!!I remember that I was killing and got killed by every sort of weapon! Right now don’t get mad about but it is just Shotgun,and please don’t say is not true,because what I think is that too many people are afraid to counter Sniper rifle!

Shotguns are popular sure but except for a select few God rolls and Chaperone they are all counterable. Again, you are using a high powered scope. Anything that hits you in the dome should make you think twice about maintaining your position because it means they got the dime on you. Even at range. Just because something is beyond its [u]effective [b]kill[/b] range[/u] doesn't mean it should not affect an ADS sniper. There has been no argument in this history of this argument that will convince me other wise. The skill of sniping is not about shooting through incoming fire. It's about positioning, catching your target unaware (element of surprise), or forcing them into a bad position. Yet in do many games people try to force sniping into something it's not or shouldn't be. I'm convinced that Bungie remembers this lessen and will not allow sniping to 'mained' like it was in D1. Flinch is a big part of that.

(Despite ant arguments for minor adjustments), Uninhibited snipers (if flinch reduced) can be used at almost all ranges and situations. The only reason shotguns are deemed "more competitive" in this game is because of map design and the ability to close the game with a 1HK weapon that doesn't really require aiming.

The way maps are designed cater to shotguns, if you say anything else you’re kidding yourself. If a sniper FINALLY finds a situation to use a sniper with a decent sight line and cover, they are still flinched to death when trying to land the shot, while shotguns can move around the map uninhibited. That’s not balance bud

Lol I am not against snipers, just the abuse of the weapon being used not as intended. (a long range suppression and take down) With less flinch they become more of an aggressive 'main' weapon which is an abuse of their range and power. When it's used as intended it fine. Again, you attitude stinks of "I just want easier sniping". Thanks the only reason we are at odds.

I mean I’m fine if they don’t want people “maining” snipers, but don’t have people “maining” shotguns...otherwise...you’re just a hypocrite. And nice, personal attacks...that’s definitely a way to assert your dominance in an argument.

It doesn't compare to a sniper so stop it. The raised ttk is very good against shotgun rushers right now (Chaperone and 1 other are harder). Unhindered snipers can kill at [u]all ranges[/u] so that's why they need to be controlled more. That's the real balance. If you can't see that then I can't help you and all I hear is "I want easier sniping".

But there's nothing wrong with the skill it takes to use a sniper now. You simply just want it easier and to make countering snipers harder. As with almost any 1HK weapon, Snipers in this game have a very high potential to [u]take over[/u] the gameplay if not controlled correctly. This is not a biased stance, this is a historical Destiny fact. I've never once said that snipers are not or should not be a skilled weapon, they just cannot be allowed to be 'mained' and thekine drawn on their balance is very fine. Right now snipers punish players who are not playing smart and reward snipers who take advantage of positioning and are good at quickscoping and drag shooting. However being able to counter and suppress sniping, even at range, need to happen or they become too easy to use. There's a very narrow window on that balance and it's in a good place right now. This will actually be my last comment. I just want it made clear that I do not [u]hate[/u] sniping.
