What is so difficult about infusing a copy of the same weapon?

Because a lot of the weapons I want to infuse simply don't drop anymore. They're no longer in the loot pools. Bungie felt it was necessary to take a ton of Year 1 gear out of the game to make room for all of the Edge Transits you'll be getting. They also felt it was necessary to basically gimp all of the Year 1 gear you had invested so much time and effort into instead updating it for Year 2. I hope you enjoy Edge Transits, because that's basically half of the loot in the game now. And people actually defend this bullshit.

[/quote] Hey at least we can grab a year one item out of collections anytime we want. I'm still using a handful of weapons that are still performing as good or better than year two gear. I wish they would at least add a mod slot for them but what will more likely happen is that we're going to start seeing more weapons from the weapon foundries and it's going to start looking a little more diverse than now. I don't know why you're getting all salty about it. A bunch of power weapons moved to energy so the loot pool for power weapons is slim right now. Machine guns will be added later and we'll also see some other weapons added here soon. I get a lot of them but it's not a disproportionate amount. But at least it's a good grenade launcher and you can get a decent roll on it.

RNG giving you that second copy of said weapon, what else??? way to many time-gates, throttles and other ingame barriers in D2, sucks the life right out of it

the difficulty is hoping and praying that rng gives you a copy of the weapon that you're trying to infuse.

There is a reason why Bungie kept the amount of new gear limited to start. So you can sort the rolls you like and use the bad rolls for infusion. RNG is not an issue, neither is infusion unless you're trying to upgrade every weapon in your Vault and lack patience. With a couple of exceptions copies are dropping ALL THE TIME for me.

It isn't an assumption when you experience it yourself and hear it from others. There is only so much new gear dropping in Forsaken. If you're playing the game, doing anything, you're getting repeat drops. It's built in whatever you decide to play. You think Edge Transit is the only thing dropping repeatedly?

well bully for you not everybody has your level of luck with rng some people almost never see a duplicate weapon of the weapon they're trying to infuse so rng can be and is a problem for a lot of players trying to infuse.

I’ve been able to infuse [b]1[/b] duplicate weapon since forsaken drop. I’ve had to scrape masterwork cores for every thing else or simply use the weapons I’m given so I’m constantly using a different set of weapons every week.

Don't constantly infuse... Find the gear that you wanna use. When you get a powerful drop in that slot, just hold onto it in your inventory so that the game will register that as your highest possible Power. When the power gap between what you're wearing and what's your highest Power gets to being 10+, that's when you should infuse. That's the strategy I've been using. My Titan's highest possible Power is 586, but he's constantly floating around 579-583 where I'm using my preferred gear.
