The special feeling is when you get that exotic you really want to drop. Thats how it was in destiny 1 year 1 and they tried your way of just giving them to anyone in year 1 destiny 2 and it was not recieved well. The whole point of Destiny is the grind.

There are levels of grind. The grind that will satisfy someone playing 60 hours a week is a progression wall for someone playing 10-20 hours a week. And the money is with the 20 hour player. Any one playing the game 60 hours a week is either playing this game as their job, or playing it because in lieu of job. So it’s bad business to alienate the 20 hour player to cater to the person playing 60 hours, unless you can monetize that 60 player to replace the 20 hour players driven away (sub fees).

not like this. i get plenty of good purples. the normal grind is fine, we are used to it already. the tiny loot pool is bogus though. this new grind is something special though... in a crazy, wtf sense. if exotics would drop at all, it would placate it somewhat... but they are not, and it sucks. in what works would it be awesome to get 2 or three Exotics in 3 months!????

No one asked for this...

Everyone asked for this, maybe not quite to this extent but in general everyone wanted it to take longer to obtain everything because it kept the game fresh. You are in the minority. The game was stale and boring partly due to how easy it was to obtain loot. Did you truthfully play for the entirety of year 1, or did you play at launch and quit? If you truthfully played year 1 in its entirety then you would know how easy it was to obtain all loot in the game. This is good for the game in the long term.

everyone on REDDIT asked for this you ever hear of somebody in Diablo, which is a real loot game, complaining that legendaries weren't special enough? Hell no Diablo doesn't even have Exotics. They don't need it they just make super awesome legendaries and they make a ton of them so you can play as you like

long term? lol if i can't get the loot, long term will just stop playing yeah that's helpful....

I truthfully played through the entirety of Y1, and "having everything" is a better problem than "having nothing." Objectively. Without question. You don't have to defend Bungie's terrible decision. They just want your time and money. They don't care about actually improving the game for you. It's an abusive relationship and you deserve better.

That special feeling of "Oh thank -blam!-ING christ it only took longer than it takes to GESTATE A CHILD."
