I had a guy follow us around the whole game just shooting us.. his own team. He put up donuts.
luckily we had some virgin all star on our team. Because if we didn’t win I would have lost my shit

When you can get Powerful Gear for completing one match and another Powerful Gear after just two more matches... You should expect these types of things.

Unfortunately, it doesn't make a bit of difference to that type of person. Hell, they may hate PvP so much that they intentionally go into Comp just to fek with the randoms they get matched with. I don't do enough Crucible to remember this, but can't you also get the Powerful Gear through Rumble? That would make the most sense to me. At least doing it that way, you aren't going to negatively impact other players experience.

Haha, yeah. I have a lot of fun when I do venture off into Crucible (I keep my ass out of Comp though), but I admit having that happen... Might get me a bit agitated. I'm with you, I would MUCH rather see them afk.
