I was so pumped for the new sandbox, but reality is hit home how bad it is. shotgun fest
I hope my last 3 crucible games are not a sign of whats to come. They were quite possibly my worst d2 experience i have ever had.
I am an old d1 player that thought this new sand box was what the game needed. Was i wrong, have they made it worse? I hope not but it seems so.

Fusions, buddy. Shotguns are only good if they can charge you. High impact fusion will stop the charge every time. You'll still have no skill corner campers, but if you see red on your radar at a corner throw a grenade or carry that new bow when you get it. That bow is going to make corner campers cry.

Bungie gave you the ability to put virtually every weapon type available in every slot, and people are still complaining about people using shotguns... Has it ever occurred to you the maybe you just aren’t very good at the game? I’m certainly not, but even someone like me can see that the new weapon system allows me to run a primary, a shotgun, and a another weapon to counter shotgun campers... Use grenades and counters... The only way that you’re getting killed by a shotgun is because you’re running around completely oblivious to your surroundings... If you see a red dot on the radar that is blinking on and off, it’s because someone is on the other side of the wall squatting down waiting to blow your head off when you round the corner. Toss a grenade around the corner, and wreck them when they start to run away.

3 RepliesThe terrible thing about rampant shotguns is that it’s relatively non-counterable on certain maps with very forgiving range.

This is what happens when you drastically change the game and it wasn't meant fo it to happen. The maps, kill times and ability recharge times and damage were balanced aloud how it was in vanilla. Bungie bringing in a lot more weapon verity for maps that were never meant for this much is bad.

there are so many players running around in QP who are terrible at shotgunning. you just need to utilize your movement and outsmart them.

It’s way better. We’re back in the land of git gud. If you were bad but riding assists your stats will drop. If you were good but held back by dual primaries your stats will just go up

Shotguns can get annoying, but honestly, they're only annoying. I don't feel overly threatened by them. Learn to counter it. In the new sandbox, it's not that hard. If "two" or more people push you with shotguns, and you die...uhm...chances are you would have died anyways even if they pushed you with something else, like SMG's. As you were outnumbered....that's what happens. ...and still...there would have been actually "more" effective counters to 2-people pushing you with shotguns than there would have been against two people pushing you with SMG's So where's the issue?.
