Not a specific reference persay, but Ive always felt the 4 enemy races were pretty analogous to the 4 horsemen. Cabal = War (obviously), Fallen = Famine, since their motivations are scavenging for survival, Vex = Pestilence since they corrupt and consume, and Hive = Death, because boy do they literally love death.

That’s a really interesting way to look at it, I never thought of it that way. If this is what they were going for during development, I wonder what the other types of enemies represent, such as The Taken, The Scorn, and the variations of enemies such as Siva Fallen/Frozen Hive.

possibly the seven deadly sins...more to come

Fallen = Envy and Greed, (obvious) Calus = Sloth, (because he only fights when you spill his drink, otherwise he lounges around) hive = Gluttony, (they have to constantly feed their worms) Splicers = Pride, (they think they're the salvation of the Eliksni) Scorn = Wrath (don't know much except that they really hate the Awoken and Cayde). Couldn't find any enemies that fit Lust

Ooh thats cool. Taken = Greed, Scorn = Wrath, Calus = Gluttony, Siva = Pride?

Im not really sure. I figure its kind of a bungie theme of sorts. Halo was an analogy of Noah's flood (the bad guys were The Flood after all) so I felt Destiny was a pretty good analogy for the book of Revelations (as much of an analogy as anyone can take I guess, the books kind of all over the place sometimes). Its got millinia of peace (golden age) after a savior (the traveller) comes, but then the apocalypse comes, four horsemen start wrecking everything. My understanding of revelations is a bit rusty, but after that I think the whole "final battle against evil" is supposed to happen, which Id assume is the darkness (triangle ships?). Maybe the Scorn, Siva, and especially Taken are just the "armies of evil", and in the game they are more directly linked to the darkness than the other bad guys, so that sorta fits.

That’s a nice theory. :)
