It is considered a public event, but you can only get so many players in one area of the map, per server. Since there is no matchmaking, trying to get a group together focused on E.P. is very difficult. Sure I have seen lots of randoms in a given area, decided it was a great time to kick off an E.P. only to see most of the other randoms depart the area, or go about whatever tasks they were involved in. Completely ignoring the public event, which in and off itself speaks volumes. Or even more puzzling, seeing someone kick off an E.P. and then leave the area never even trying to participate in the event? Having a matchmaking option, would give players an improved chance at making a focused effort at the event. Rather than the two current options: spend time going in and out of orbit with a bunch of friends, hoping to get to the same server location together. Or, as mentioned above kick off an event and hope for the best.
