I think we need to speculate the power structure at the time of the stimulant future. Are the Vex in the dominant species at this point or are they just stragglers hanging on to a dead universe. Personally, I always thought the future was after the arrival of The Darkness. In the simulation the Guardians do not defeat Panoptes but in turn he is not strong enough to defeat The Darkness. The Darkness ruins the sun; in a way steals it’s light and leaves it a negative thing; a shadow or a dark sun.

  • <The Dark Future before we destroy Panoptes is just Vex. After Panoptes dies, the Future outcome becomes Vex and Darkness.>

  • So the implication is the Vex are strong enough to defeat the Darkness? Or?

  • <Panoptes had the solution. With the mind gone, the data is lost. They don't know the equation to beat the Deep anymore.>

That doesn’t sound like the vex, don’t they send all data back to the collective? Or was panopties like a separate mind that did whatever he wanted?

  • <Whatever main mind they have separates itself into various subminds. Like Infinite, Root, Divisive, etc. Quria sent back information to the Collective, and sent everything back when it realized it was going to lose against Oryx. This assumes the submind has to manually send back data. So Panoptes must've only sent bits and pieces before having the data erased entirely with his death.>

  • And here I am thinking the vex were smart... Constant updates on every mind would be the smartest option.
