No. Ammo synths were a bandaid fix to an easily solved problem. Go back and play D1 again and see how bad ammo drops were and how much better they are on D2. In D2 every yellow-bar enemy drops a heavy ammo brick, on D1 heavy ammo is so much rarer, and with Juggler always on on D2, you never run out of kinetic or energy ammo.
There's just no need for synths in this game anymore, if there are ammo economy issues, address them properly, don't bandaid fix them...
In D2 every yellow-bar enemy drops a heavy ammo brick
Quite wrong, they do when they drop it but this ain't occurring every single time. My personal experience.

Edited by Zetsabou: 7/26/2018 8:50:20 AMWould be something useful to spend glimmer of shards on for once. There’s no reason why we can’t have it. Actually just means you don’t need to do heavy ammo runs on raid encounters.
-
Use our glimmer to fix Bungie's issues? People sure have gotten used to Bungie's ways, haven't they?...
-
Lmao synths worked fine last game would just be something to use if lazy. Ammo is fine in this game but there’s no reason to not be able to buy them
-
They worked fine, but it was a lazy fix to a prevalent issue in D1. That issue is no longer there, so there's no need for Synths. People only want them because they're sad that they spent all of their heavy right before they died.
-
Tell you what though, when all your heavy goes to waste because someone else messes up, that’s when it’s great. There may not be a need for it, but there is a want. It’s just a convenience.
-
this is one demand they better never bring back . the game does not need it
-
I just think that ammo conservation needs to be a factor worth considering. Ammo is already more disposable in D2 than it was in D1. With ammo synths, conservation isn't an important factor. You just use what you want, when you need it. You might as well just have infinite ammo.
-
I’d encourage high cooldowns and low maximum storage in inventory.
-
hell no
-
Then you might as well just do ammo runs.
-
Not necessarily
-
I donno about that... i ran out of energy ammo on the inverted spire strike last night and didnt get more until the boss fight.
-
So I guess you could say there's an ammo economy issue going on there?
-
Edited by Old Man OBIE: 7/23/2018 9:01:49 PMI guess you are right. It’s just I had to finish a heroic strike yesterday without any purple ammo and none dropped. Got to the boss in “garden world” died once and never again was able to use my rocket launcher. Did not know Juggler was always on. Thanks.

Ammo economy is all likely to change with the upcoming weapon slot changes in Forsaken anyway.
-
we will know on Aug 7 but word has it that it is based on what weapons you have no longer on what slot they are in
