Because having 1-2 man carries ignores the notion of a 6 man fire team. Either you win or fail as a team. No one gets left behind.

That’s what hardmode is for, the extra challenge. If the tokens were removed people would learn quicker and without inducing toxicity in newly formed teams. Those teams could then potentially go back and redo at Prestige level having built rapport during the normal clear. Instead what this encourages is anger, frustration and then fracturing of teams. As a mechanic for ‘normal’ raid it is as toxic as these forums can be.

Infinite revives promotes sloppy gameplay. The same guy who keeps dying will continue to keep dying. Having finite revives makes players more aware of their actions. Promotes better gameplay. Sure it promotes a bit of toxicity, but players need to own up to their mistakes.

I get the metaphor, I do. All I have to offer is my anecdotal experience and that is: I am in the top 1,000 players in Destiny 1 for raid completions. In Destiny 2, I don’t raid and I’ve completed nearly 100 raids. I would say, at minimum, I have taken 1,000 or more people through their first raid. When someone would die, I could have them spectate me and show them what they should be doing and we could wipe. I don’t have that luxury and I have noticed t promotes a toxic environment for new players that LFG.
