If your boots are 367 after a +5 mod, a 367 boots drop without a mod is an upgrade.

All of my gear is modded but so were the rewards I got, so they were essentially both 362.

But is 362 above your character’s unmodded/base power? As the character base power is what determines the power of the reward, not the power of the currently equipped (or even highest power item in inventory) for that particular slot.

No, both the powerful gear and my armor were at 362 unmodded, so none of the gear I received could boost my Light. I ended up just infusing them into weaker pieces of armor so they weren't just free shards.

What i was asking is what is your character overall base/unmodded power?

Edited by Emurinus: 7/13/2018 1:39:14 AMAh, that. With all the mods my character probably comes up to roughly 364. unmodded it's probably down to around 360. Still, I'm consistently getting powerful engrams for my stronger gear so I'm usually only going up one light per piece of gear rather than overall Light. I haven't gotten a strong piece for something like my gauntlets which are sitting at 355 unmodded in almost 2 weeks.
