  • You do have to kind of pay with your time if you want everything to be free. I played at least a couple hundred hours of Warframe and I dipped in an out between the years. I just got bored of the repetitiveness with nothing to shake up what I was doing. I prefer Destiny over Warframe because of the art, music, gunplay and general gameplay. I got quite bored after finding out it takes a whole day to craft a gun.

    Destiny 2s game play is so watered down and barebones I can't stand how simple it is. Crafting stuff in warframe does take time but at least you CAN. At least you can farm for specific things and know how and when you will get it. At least it's more complex than handing in an engram and spinning an RNG wheel. 90% of weapons are super cheap and every weapon feels and sounds unique

  • The guns in Waitframe all sound like senile flatulent spud guns. I prefer Destiny 2's gunplay over Warframe's any day. The problem with the gameplay of Warframe at least for me is it's level design, since its randomized tiles I always constantly feel Deja-vu when playing different missions.

    Eh you must just not have played much. Soma, boltor, braton, and more sound fantastic. Thats not counting all the other weapon types. But you don't feel deja vu in the same cramped open world's of destiny used for every mission and strike? At least warframe changes it up every time

  • Warframe is similar to Heroquest it changes the layout but it is always the same enviroments. I barely could tell the planets environments from each other because I am too busy trying to complete any boring task I am doing which is on the equivalent of a Destiny patrol mission.

    But....Destiny's open world's? While most objectives are standard some of them are super interesting. One mission you have to escort squads of defectors through a level and they stop off at junction points that heal them but those points only have so much energy so you have to balance out all the defectors so they all make it through. Or one which is like Aliens. Or space missions. Destiny still doesn't have those. They're not amazing but they're also not the focus since you replay them anyway

  • I personally think the open worlds a merely about peoples opinion, I like the environments in Destiny and to me they all look unique from each other in Warframe the plains of eidolon looked like a Fallout map but without any of the buildings and just vegetation, water and hills IMO. The main sadness I get from Warframe is the depressing death animations from enemies they just sort of fall over like a Garry's Mod ragdolls, in Destiny I shoot a Fallen's head off and I see its soul leave its body and see its hands visually move towards its head in a pain reaction, similar with cabal. I think that's why I like shooting Fallen and Cabal more than Hive and Vex because they are the 2 of the more boring enemies to shoot. But shooting the Grineer and Corpus in Warframe look too similar they just sort of blend in with each other the only way I can tell is if I notice the Grineers legs and he Corpus' heads. And the corrupted a basically like the Taken from Destiny just enemies you have already fought with a different coat of pain and some different abilities.

    Yeah destiny is obviously better on a visuals standpoint but if its boring and easy as hell that doesnt matter to me at least. Destiny can hardly handle many enemies on screen at once (on console at least) while warframe is -blam!-ing mental at times. That is so much unbelievable fun

  • I would say Warframe is better on lower end PC's except for plains of eidolon, but that's only because it released earlier than Destiny 2 and isn't as graphically good looking and intensive as Destiny 2 and thats why it can handle more enemies on screen at once. One thing I do like about Destiny 2 is in the visual optimisation with the "squint test" which means even at 25% resolution scale you should be able to accurately shoot enemies almost the same as players on 100% resolution scale. One developer which I think is pretty well known for amazingly optimised engines is Croteam, who are currently working on another prequel game of their Serious Sam series which is sort of an old school horde shooter. Their newest game with their most updated version of their engine they say with their new "legion" system the game will be able to hold up to... *drum roll intensfies* 100,000 enemies.
