Books in Games

Sometimes they're the instigators of entire plots, sometimes they give us stats, sometimes they give us spells, sometimes we read a page of one taken randomly off a shelf, sometimes we collect and read them in full, sometimes they're just window dressing to a level. In this clip, there's just a book called "Don't." How about we discuss some interesting books (or just book titles) that we've run into during our playtimes? You Don't have to, but I figured it would be fun.

  • The Lusty Argonian Maid. Truly, the greatest piece of in-game literature.

    • Sometimes they give us the entire plot of The Elder Scrolls 6, but nobody cares enough to read a book.

    • Elder Scrolls is no doubt the best when it comes to lore books. There was this nice story I read once about a merchant heading to Black Marsh. Was really interesting! Vampyr had some interesting lore books, but they were all really short. I hope that if they make a sequel/DLC we can find longer ones. I want to know more about these vampires! Spoilers, you’ve been warned.
On the topic of DLC, I’d love one where you get to play as Mary. In her brief appearance, she already had some unique powers that Jonathan didn’t have. On that note, she was also the only vampire with unique abilities...
• I love how every reference so far has been to a book that was in Skyrim.

        • I'm partial to Divine Metaphysics, myself...
Found inside the Gnisis Eggmine Dwemer Ruin, under a table. It's a shame we can't ranslate the Dwemeris(Dwemeric?) of the book and similar ones like Kagrenac's Planbook and The Egg of Time. They probably say some profound stuff. Or are full of meme worthy silliness/stupidity.
