Sword Logic is more of a philosophy that Oryx and his sisters' Hive follow. It's not what gives them access to more power; they use it as a discipline to ascend to greater strength. It's the idea that if you want to survive, you need to be stronger than everything that comes before you, and if you die, you deserved to die because you weren't strong enough and your death provides nourishment for whoever or whatever proved to be greater.
It's the logic the Worm Gods follow.

The hive symbiosis with the worm gives them access to this system of power and the ability to create throne worlds, the more they follow the sword logic the more power the gain from their worm which ultimately is powered by the darkness, a confirmed paracausal force. Oryx was able to gain akkas power because of how the sword logic works as both a philosophy and system of power. Essentially it is the fusion of our human concept "survival of the fittest" weaved into a system of paracausal power set up by the darkness.

The paracausal power is from the worm parasites. They get stronger by following that discipline. The Sword Logic does not directly give them access to that power; it's a philosophy and a discipline. It's the Deep that gives them that power.

Edited by doobiecloud: 6/24/2018 10:59:31 PMYou are correct that sword logic is a philosophy however that is only half true. the BoS directly states the sword logic is a philosophy weaved into a system of power. This is a quick breakdown: Sword logic is a concept that combines 2 distinct features 1) philosophy of "survival of the fittest" which is not unique to the darkness, it's literally the way primal nature works. 2) a system of power that grants access to paracausal abilities based on high levels of slaughter Both of these key features define sword logic according to the worms and the three siblings in the BoS.
