What's great about Cataclysm for PvE is that once the Nova Bomb goes off the seekers tend to mop up the ads running around near the boss, giving more DPS due to the extra explosions. The Vortex isn't very big and doesn't last long enough to do good DPS imo.

True - but also very random. It’s not always it splits or deals damage to that single target. Someone needs to make a video!

Yup. The seekers can also come back and bite the boss on the proverbial backside as well.

Go to leviathan and check it out on the yellow bars and the flag holders. Sometimes it murders them and other times it’s weak as anything. Also try the devour tree and the explosion is more consistent and doesn’t rely on the seeker damage.
