The issue here isn’t cost.
It’s that people want the emote without having to pay for it.

The problem isn't wanting the emote. It's that after the Dawning fiasco and conceding that Eververse wasn't being particularly fair to players a few months ago, they said they would make efforts to correct this mistake and allow things to be earned in through in-game activities. Skip ahead a few months and they set a new precedent by introducing a new piece of content that can [i]only[/i] be bought through Eververse for real world cash.

It’s not that we want the emote, it’s a cool one and all but it’s what happens if we let this $10 thing slide, it’ll become the dawning all over again.

The issue is deeper than that for me. It mostly stems from the fact that it's the only D1 throwback Emote that destroys all of D2s retconned lore. Not only is it out of place, but it seems targeted [b][i]Directly[/i][/b] at Veterans so that they buy It.
