This is very true. Anger is what gave me the strength to move forward with my life. Sadness lead to depression and an urge to end my life. It did take a while to learn how to harness my anger to my will, so I could use it instead of it using me. You have to temper that anger and use it to drive you towards your goals, but not let it blind you to other people's problems or solutions that are outside the realm of your ken. Temper your anger with wisdom and patience, speak with a soft voice when your anger urges harsh words and raised voices. Act with thoughtfulness and deliberation when your anger urges you towards immediate actions. I was not a good person and I still do not consider myself a good person, but I do not want to be a bad person, I want to be a good person, so I try to make the changes in myself to be a good person. When a conflict arises, I try to walk away. People take this for weakness, but it is infinitely harder than breaking their face, which I can and would have done, I don't want to be that way or teach that way to my kids. It truly takes so much strength to harness my anger and keep me from reacting in a negative way, that I feel exhausted all the time, which is another great way to end up stagnating your life, exhaustion.
