Give me an army of guys like him.
I'll never have to wonder where I stand with them. I'll never look around in the middle of the fight, and realize that they've run off and left me.
...and I'll never suddenly find a knife handle sticking out of my back.
If a guy like that ever does turn on you....you'll see it coming, and he'll do you the courtesy of burying that knife in your chest.

Then quotes his public apology for the incident he was referring to. The incident involved him saying something that was ultimately true...but had been expressed in a tactless fashion. My point is that people aren't perfect. So if I have to choose between truth and politeness? I'll take the truth-teller every day. TLDR: I work with people who make Luke Smith sound like "Ms. Manners"...and yet those are some of my favorite people. Because of their bluntness, I never have to wonder what they think....or what they're thinking of me. Because they tell you.
