SIVA was billed as this... Creeping, lovecraftian elder deity like force that devoured and corrupted all that came near it... It is even implied a few times that while the splicers think they are using it, that rather, Siva is using them, and they just don't realize... It's frankly criminal had bad the story telling has been in this series. 1. To get at any actual story content you had to read the grimoire and that required you to go on a website instead of being in game. 2. Even if you read the grimoire, most of it is bland and banal.
So many magnificent story telling opportunities wasted......
AND WHY THE HELL DO THE HIVE SPEAK ENGLISH?! Through savagery and cruelty did the king of the hive take his throne... Then you kill his brat and he takes the time to learn the kings English so he can banter at you in person
English

<I'd prefer if some of our enemies started talking (except the Vex, unless it's an "ambassador" like Jacobson was) the way we did. The Fallen are going to be allies soon so... The Cabal probably learned our language so they can properly show us the end of our civilization. Calus just wants to know who we are as a species. The Hive... despite their tendency for utter destruction, seem to write down EVERYTHING. The World's Grave has EVERYTHING that the Hive did and encountered since they left Fundament. They know their enemies. I'm sure that the Hive started writing down the tale of our annihilation and how we worked before we started kicking their ass.>

Did they learn English, or did the light let us learn their language

<Considering how many Hive would've have to jot down the culture, information, and eventual death of the species they come across, they probably just learned it. I mean, he spoke to the Taishibethi, probably in their language. He tried to negotiate with the Ammonites (before Savathun killed him) as well. He probably used their language.>
