Any of the flood seen in halo games, except maybe gravemind, siva-fodder. The more powerful stages in the novels can eat bio-spheres and warp reality, no contest.
-
The Flood is capable of warping reality itself. SIVA gets -blam!-ed hard.
-
Dude ... I hate the flood but I'll take the flood lol.
-
Seeing a lot of "flood would win" here. For starters though, I'm a huge halo fan. I know a lot of the lore. I know about the logic plague. Now saying that it comes down to one thing: is siva receiving its programming during the battle or is it already weaponised. If an ai is controlling it and is giving it orders then the flood would win due to corrupting the ai with the logic plague (this would take a while with a warmind though) if the siva has already been weaponised and is no longer in contact with the ai then it would easily win. Reason being the flood need to infect body's to build up their strength, including building a keymind, as they require the biomass. Siva only requires something it can use to replicate itself with. Not to mention the floods body's are then very volotile unless it's a pure form. Given the fact that once siva doesn't have an off switch until its job is done I believe the flood wouldn't stand a chance, as siva is incorruptible and can replicate itself far faster and with more materials than the flood. The only chance the flood would have is building up its biomass to a key mind and then gaining control of the precursor technology (spaceroutes) that could disrupt space.
-
The flood can take a world in the matter of moments. The flood from the halo series is enough to crush Siva. Siva is a mindless program that can't adapt but the flood can adapt.
-
Wrong, it can not in a matter of moments. In order for it to be possible the flood would need a huge ship full of spores and infection forms. Otherwise the flood requires time to infect a whole planet. A single spore can infecta whole planet, but it requires time to do so. Siva on the other hand would go around the planet, tearing everything down, killing everything and replicating whilst doing so in far less time if it had that command. If we assume both start with a single spore/ form, then siva would win due to the flood requiring body's to survive and the fact they have to hide the infection long enough to be able to infect enough people, otherwise their potential hosts would wipe the flood out. Siva would be incredibly hard to wipe out due to the fact that nanites are so small and all it would require is a single nanite to survive. The flood spores might well survive, but they're useless without hosts

Planets are made out of bio mass. One planet is all the flood needs. The flood devoured entire worlds, galaxies fell before them. Once the flood gets going, it will be almost impossible to stop, Siva didn't even take over the planet as fast as the flood. Siva didn't even take over a country only a small mass of land. "One single Flood spore can destroy a species." Rtas Vadum
-
Planters are not made out of useable bio mass though. The flood just use the surface of the planet as a key mind, enveloping the planet and using it as a giant command centre. The planet itself can't be infected, the surface can. However, galaxies didn't fall before the flood, all we know is that the flood originated in our galaxy by human mistakes, but we don't know if it invaded other galaxies. Nonetheless the flood require time, effort and bodies to infect the whole planet, siva does not. We don't know how fast siva could envelope a planet, as no one has actually ever given it that command. Not to mention the flood WAS stopped through the halo arrey, the flood in the game are actually stored samples in case the flood did come back from outside the galaxy app species would be able to study the captured samples in the hopes of finding a cure

"This we were told by the Gravemind, the greatest of them, who has consumed ten thousand planets and brought entire galaxies to an end. This we were told..." -- Forthencho The flood and precursors are one and the same.
-
Yes the flood and precursors are the same, but then can everything they say be trusted? They were angry at the forerunners after all. Over exaggeration is a common tactic used in war to inspire fear in your enemies. The fact is though that the precursors degenerated into a dust, which they intended to rebuild their body's with later. The dust got corrupted and came into human hands. The humans used the dust, and all went well at first but it slowly mutated the subjects that received the dust and became the flood as we know it
-
Yep, the flood would consume any life siva enhanced, ask that would be left is the enhancements lasting on the ground.
-
Yes the flood can consume and life siva enhances, but then they have one problem: the flood require bodies, and when they have that body they need to sever the nervous system, and link themselves up to it. Most of the time this kills the host, but not always. Some victims have been left alive and managed to reassert some control over their body, a problem for the flood, siva on the other hand does not require the hosts nervous system to control a host, it uses itself by building up a sort of second skeleton inside the host and moving itself to move its host. Given the fact that the flood need an infection form in order to control the body, siva could puncture the form, and siva wouldn't care about a form in one of their hosts, if the flood tries to move the form the siva skeleton would either stay put and severely damage the host body, or siva could still move the body.
-
The flood can take a world in the matter of moments. The flood from the halo series is enough to crush Siva. Siva is a mindless program that can't adapt but the flood can adapt.
-
The flood never took a world in a matter of moments though. Any resistance considerably hinders the flood, not to mention they first need a big enough force to take a world. The entire flood could indeed take a planet in moments, but a fraction can't, as demonstrated on earth
-
The flood have taken worlds with resistance. Entire planets. Hell even forerunner worlds fell. Siva has shown very limit capabilities.
-
Here's the point though: we have seen the floods full potential, but we haven't seen sivas full potential. And the fact the flood have taken entire worlds doesn't mean they did it easily, at first it required hiding until they had sufficient troops, but later they were helped by the highest grade military ai ever and the remnants of the precursors technology. Assuming that if we began with a single siva module and flood spore the flood would have to slowly build up numbers whereas siva would replicate far faster. Let us also assume it is in a galaxy with no precursor or any other technology, but just civilisations with basic commodities. The flood could then spread far quicker. But there is one key factor in sivas win: while the floods goal is to have physical bodies and then take over the galaxy siva does not need bodies. The flood infection forms are quite sizeable, and the attack and pure forms are large, siva is tiny. The flood would have to destroy a lot of very tiny particles, whereas siva has a very large thing they can hit compared to itself.
-
There's one thing tho, the flood can adapt to their enemy. Forerunner tech makes Siva look like child play.
-
The flood need organic life to invade a host. It would work on the splicers but not siva
-
The flood have the logic Plague.
-
I remember seeing something about that but a can't remember what that was exactly wasn't that for the purpose of corrupting AI. I don't think it would work for siva. AI have thoughts and feelings, siva is a mindless machine made to serve a task and not stop until that task is complete
-
Yes made for a task but it is programming none the least. Corruption can convert it to do something the flood desires.
-
Edited by CaptainOblivious: 3/19/2018 4:33:36 PMHere's the way I see it. Both are form of infection forms capable of invading a host and controlling it. The flood need an organic host to control something and siva doesn't, from what we've seen siva can enhance anything from organic life to weapons to structure. Siva is a pure machine I don't think you could try to logic plague a calculator.
-
Edited by Ghost593835: 3/19/2018 4:42:36 PMThe flood doesn't need host, it can convert planets into flood forms. Bodies only add to it's intelligence. Actually you can corrupt a Calculator with the programming.
-
Except wasn't the logic plague something made up by the flood to turn AI against its creators the humans

Flood sadly
