Not to be mean but I think he kinda earned it and did really damn well to live as long as he did.
He was diagnosed with motor-neurone at about age 20 and was told he wouldn’t see more than another 3 years at max and yet he fought through and lived more than another 50!
He’s left an incredible mark on the world and the scientific community as a whole. I say he’s earned his rest.
[spoiler]though I guess now he can finally truly know the truth regarding whether there is a deity or not and perhaps even the origins of the universe. Provided reincarnation isn’t a thing and he just went straight into his next life...[/spoiler]

This is what baffles my mind, I find it fascinating that when someone dies, we're kind of left thinking "now they'll finally know." Whatever there really is after death, they'll know, but we won't. The dead can't tell, so the living is left to ponder with our beliefs and opinions. Oddly fascinating to me.

It is rather intriguing... and even then there’s the chance that they don’t even know... Hell, if reincarnation is the truth of the universe then they likely won’t even remember having died in a previous life in the first place...
