Are they actually the same actor, or something? I mean, I know of Montoya, but I can't remember if I've ever seen the bearded fellow on any TV show/movie.

They are, yeah. Mandy Patinkin. He plays Saul Berenson on [i]Homeland[/i] and used to play Gideon on [i]Criminal Minds[/i], if those ring any bells.
