Yeah, people are being either over-dramatic or dishonest when they say there are no good exotics on D2. D1 certainly has more but then D3 has multiple expansions whereas D2 has only had its first.
My favourites are:-
Sunshot, Prometheus Lens, Coldheart, Wardcliff Coil and Sweet Business.
I personally love the Graviton Lance (a.k.a. The Dubstep Gun!) because it looks and sounds amazing (especially with ornaments) Can't wait for its buffs!!!

I think the issue is some stand out as very good like sun shot or Orpheus on the armour side. There is a much bigger gulf between good and bad in d2 for some reason . I think looking at armour one of the fundamental issues is that a lot of pieces just give you what was a d1 subclass perk . That said with the next update increasing recharge speeds things like skull of fire amankara will become even better.

It’s a lot of fun. It takes some getting use to. Hold the trigger and release when the grenade reaches the middle of groups. Or be accurate and nail shielded enemies. It’s actually surprisingly effective. My last EoW run I ran it with another grenade launcher (until phase 2 Argos) and had a blast. I want to bring it into a prestige nightfall with void burn.

Try the prospector on calus it does really solid damage , I was pleasantly surprised . On normal I now use that instead of coldheart/rockets .

Graviton Lance is one of my favorites even if it lacks damage on first two shots. It's an exotic that I will always want to go back to even if I dismantle it. I always have an urge to use it after a while of not using it. Love the new ornament on it, but I hate the original ornament.
