I'm very much in favor of an edit-option.
Even if it's a one time only deal.
My exo Titan had this cool looking bronze/copper skin in D1. But in D2 he turned into an orange. I'd like to fix his looks.

Yeah same, even if it’s just a one-time deal I’d be okay with it. I didn’t plan on getting so attached to my Guardian, and stupid nihilistic past me is making present me pay for it. Bungie please.
