Are all game Devs complete pansies? How weak does a person's sense of self worth need to be to get upset because some anonymous people posted mean things about them on the internet? I really despair for "adults" these days.

  • Wow, you totally unterstood whats going on. Bravo. Read the article again. Besides that, think about how you feel getting death threats, not only on twitter - that are just examples.

Besides that, think about how you feel getting death threats, not only on twitter - that are just examples.[/quote] Yip, just re-read it. My opinion stands. It doesn't take a mentally strong or extremely clued in person to look at the title of a post and make the cognitive link that, "this is not a positive post, I'm not reading this". That's just common sense ? When you invite feedback on your product and provide access to your team through a product forum them it stands to sense that you will get the whole spectrum of opinions, good, bad, plain crazy and everything in between. I've seen excellent posts on these forums and I've seen complete shitposts as well, as an adult I make an informed decision about whether or not I'm going to read a post based on the title and if it drifts into batshit crazy halfway through then I stop reading it. As for the death threats, no-one in their right mind would condone it, but I think an awareness of who posts these threats wouldn't be hard to develop. I wouldn't be worried about the guy shouting and screaming on an online forum, he's just an arsehole, I'd be more worried about the guy who doesn't post on the forum but actually lands at my door. And for this type of individual unfortunately there's not much you can do. The forums definitely need stricter language rules and more moderators but should a company as big as bungie really need to be told that? The base element will always be represented on the forum, welcome to the internet, as I see it companies can either close the forum access or employ more people with a modicum of common sense to sift through the bullshit to get real customer feedback.
