Splitting the game would only further fragment a game with a declining player base. Not to mention paid DLC fragments the game enough, but paid DLC has come to be an acceptable way of delivering new content.
As for monthly payments, I don't think that would rest well with the target casual audience this game has. In addition to that, Bungie has already stated they have trouble and have had trouble pushing out enough new content to a game after it releases. Subscription based games hinge on the fact that good new content is released regularly to make the subscription worth it.
Under the publisher ACTIVISION, the Destiny series will follow an extremely similar payment model to COD. If you really think the payment model should change, make your voice heard to ACTIVISION, not to bungie.

Also about the casual player base not wanting a subscription there are plenty of ways to work with that. Like for instance World of Warcraft has it where you can buy game time with gold. Do the same thing with Glimmer or throw it in a package maybe every time an expansion is coming out offer a deal on game time with it. There are plenty of ways that make sense and make the game look wayyyyyyy more appealing. Even to me when I only have like 2 days I can put some serious time into something if I'm busy a month I think I'm going to be busy for a few months I might not pay but I might try to keep up the good with time I can spare to buy game time. Theoretically.

I understand your desires for a subscription model in destiny 2. I think if bungie could keep the content flowing it would be a great way to give the team the money they need to... well... keep the content flowing. I think a lot of people on this forum who voice their opinions about the game (such as you and me) wish to see this game become more hardcore or cater to more hard core players instead of casual ones. (I have nothing against hardcore or casual players, and the only difference between the two is the amount of personal time they’re willing to dump into this game. To appease hardcore players you generally need many robust in-game systems that allow players to dump substantial amounts of time into and continuously be rewarded appropriately for their time spent.) With my original comment I was just trying to show you why your idea probably would work or wouldn’t be implemented.

I totally agree with you buddy, and yeah I know what you meant like I said I just want to hope someone out there puts themselves under this rock too and it give Bungie enough to say hey people want this lol

This was more of a "my voice towards Activision" kind of rant. I get all that you're saying and you're right. But I doubt Activision will look at their forums. But I feel like if enough people voice a similar belief to the people that are making the content maybe those people can go to their publisher and show that there is a want for it.
