The Division? Warframe?
Those are the two games people urge Destiny to be more like?

Warframe is garbage, the game requires hours of grinding just to get the items to make something, then you have to wait even longer for the item to be created, getting 1 item could take days. I like grindy games, but Warframe takes it way too far.

First, it's [i]free[/i]. And it'll always be like that. Second, there is a lot to grind for and you can get it at any time without obnoxiously farming lootboxes. Third, devs. Digital Extremes proved themselves to be trustworthy and communicative. I can't say anything about Division. But the fact is that we have the game roughly identical to Destiny 2 and it's being distributed for free AND didn't cause any scandals for 4 years of its existence. Rather sad if compared to D2.

It's not free, it's paid for by founders and microtransactions. Most of the loot in the game (that you'll want) requires lengthy construction times that encourage you to buy boosters with RL money. I used to play the game, I get how it works. Division didn't have any scandals?! LOLOL I won't bother further. You may like Warframe, I don't. Where does that leave us on the "Destiny should be more like Warframe" bit? Well, pretty much in the same place regarding Eververse. Some like it, some don't. Still just opinions breh =)

I was talking about Warframe. I don't know about Division and honestly don't care about it. I mean, you can get platinum from trading with others. With enough patience, you can get a LOT of currency. And about those wait times... yeah, agreed here. But I still love it for its story, awesome design and GORGEOUS soundtrack

I won't fault you for having a positive view of the game. I just find it humorous people that hate this game for some of its practices would extol the virtue of Warframe lol. Really makes me laugh. The really funny part is if the Devs did do that, it'd just make half the playerbase start praising them and the half that didn't have issues start hating them. It's the part of this entire "debate" (if you can call it that) on the boards that I think too many people are missing.

I kinda think that those who don't have any problems are either those who were bying lootboxes and now desperately protect Bungie because they want to make sure their money was well spent, or those who were lucky enough to get everything they wanted from first engrams and now they genuinely don't understand all this hate

They've done better than destiny imo. They're still pretty mediocre, but destiny hasn't really done much of anything

I won't say your view of it is wrong, as it's really just subjective perspective right? I personally did NOT enjoy either of those games though and would not likely play Destiny if it had more elements similar to their design. Oh sweet, got a new engram...it'll decode in 20 hours lol.

Oh man...that game... I played the beta and was Day 1 for that game. In fact, I think it in itself was a pretty great game. Interesting concept, great design, fun characters, focus on squad play...then I realized I couldn't get my RL friends to buy into it... So I played with randos... Yea...that didn't go well for me lol.
