I don't consider this cheating, because it's an exploit of a glitch. So as far as I'm concerned its part of the game and therefore fair to use, no matter how broken it is. The only crappy part to this is Bungie's refusal to fix it which forces everyone to choose to either use the exploit or to fight it. Insulting each other for using whatever is futile, it's Bungie's screw-up to fix. But, we already know what Bungie is going to do about this issue.

Exploiting a glitch is cheating

No, using a glitch is not cheating. Using a glitch is exploiting a fault in the games code to your advantage. Cheating would be hacking into the code, and changing said code to your advantage. Another example of cheating. Using external modifications to the console or controller. Such as a scuff controller.
yes, scuff controllers are cheating. The only reason they are allowed in competitive, is because they pay to be partnered with the different competitive companies.
But everyone can buy a scuf or elite controller... just like the lense or the glitchy emote...that's how I got mine ;). So no cheating by your own standards. Also... judging by your description of cheating vs exploiting it would be fine to ddos someone cause no hacking of game code or external changes to xbox or controller are involved only exploiting a hole in the system... just saying.

Just to be clear, I'm against this exploit. Its just that there's literally nothing we can do about it other than use in-game mechanics to shut it down.

It's definitely broken and its not supposed to be in the game but nobody is changing the game's code to do this. Its Bungie's fault and its on them to fix this glitch. So until then this is part of the game.
