The Traveler visited the vex and turned them into radiolara, and they had a golden age. That is why “older” vex are made of gold and sliver and the “newer” vex are made of scrap metal and stuff. The theories are all good but just slightly off. Nice work though.

The Traveler has never been known to alter the physical state of a species it visits. A golden age wouldn’t encourage Vex to make bodies out of gold and silver, although a time period where they are unchallenged would make it of no disadvantage to use such bright colors. But the newer model Vex are certainly not made of scrap metal; the Descendants are made of ores that have been able to survive eons of use. Vex are practical, not subject to petty fashion Lol they’re theories, they’re supposed to be kind of off because there’s no way to make them not like that

Ok, That makes sense. I heard that theory from another and it sounded like it could be true, and as you pointed out there are some parts that cannot be. I do have another theory for you to think on however... What if savathun is controlling / made the vex? I have some stuff here Ghost fragment: Mysteries mentions something with black flame that (beat?) the gardener and was stronger than the narrator. from the new lore on MK.44 stand asides, It talks about the gardener; "She is listening to the music of the insects amidst the flowers, the unguent as it begins to drip from the ferns, the slight scratch of the Worm beneath" worms with hive, other stuff savathun may have been trapped in the vex network and took over them (from the new verse scout) "Two siblings cleaved by time and space, reflections never found alone, The ending of the eldritch race—a path long seen but never known." possibly referencing savathun and oryx getting separated.

Savathûn has no influence over the Vex, although in the Books of Sorrow she was aware of a location where the Vex were and somehow guided a Tear made by Crota to open up in that location. Ghost Fragment: Mysteries is from the perspective of Rasputin and he tells of how the Darkness itself defeated him and the Traveler Mk.44 is probably about the Traveler and how the Worms/Hive (or it might be referring to the Darkness metaphorically) chase it and destroy what it created Savathûn and Oryx don’t fit that scout description at all, but the Light and Darkness do perfectly. The “path long seen but never known” is the defeat of the Darkness The only relation Savathûn has with the Vex is that she controls the Taken Quria, which she has been using as an extension to control a few Taken in our solar system. However, Quria is supposedly corrupting the Taken with Vex components. She’s pretty much confirmed not to be within Vex territory because Oryx had almost direct contact with her after she entered that black hole by speaking to her through his Echoes

Edited by Turt: 12/19/2017 2:27:23 AMWelp you seem to know more then me :p. Some of that stuff seemed to fit. Do you know anything about the gardener? And it seems interesting that it refers to the gardener and worms in the lore. Also where did it sat that savathun went into a black hole? Seems like something I should read.

The Traveler is called the Gardener by Rasputin and the Hive, as well as probably some other things. It’s called this because of how it goes from world to world “gardening” life, meaning it creates fertile conditions then helps nourish and grow new life The Books of Sorrow describe Savathûn entering the black hole. If u haven’t read the Books of Sorrow, read them, they give the entire story of the Hive, Oryx, and his sisters (including Savathûn) as well as some bits on the Vex. It’s a gold mine for good storytelling and lore, so naturally I️ love it

I have read the books of sorrow, just don't remember that happening :) Time to read it again! Also I did not know that the hive and rasputin refer to the traveler as the gardener. It does make sense though.

Lol never bad to read those again. You’ll find it in the 5th book of the BoS (which is the last book, numbers 41-50). It’ll be after “I’d Shut Them All In Cells” but before “Wormfood” I’m pretty sure
