The current welfare programs are worse in that regard than what a minimum UBI would be, so I don't think that's particularly relevant.
-
If people got paid to do nothing then they will do nothing.
-
Did you watch the video? Current welfare programs actively encourage people to do nothing, because doing more can actually equate to less. They also mention some statistics that indicate that people don't necessarily slack off because they don't have to worry about survival anymore.
-
I watched a minute of it and found it too broad. Instead ive read about what Hawaii is trying to do with it. People won't work if they get paid not to
-
I certainly can't make you watch it or look at the sources they provide, but it isn't really so simple that it can be left at "people won't work". That honestly seems a lot more broad than the video, too...

Edited by Kamots: 12/9/2017 7:13:19 PMUh...OK? Thanks for providing sources saying that Hawaii is trying out UBI, I guess? Although I will say I'm a bit concerned that you linked to a website that says "Fashion Week in Paradise" is a related video.
Uh...OK? Thanks for providing sources saying that Hawaii is trying out UBI, I guess?
No problem. It's better than an opinionated YouTube video
Although I will say I'm a bit concerned that you linked to a website that says "Fashion Week in Paradise" is a related video.
The link was talking about Hawaii, and what do ya know, the video is about Hawaii as well......weird!

But fashion vs UBI isn’t even close...
-
And.....? It's almost like Hawaii and, well, Hawaii are close.
