That's right, the brilliant minds at Bungie decided to add more timed activities when QUITE LITERALLY NOBODY likes them.
How many more "remove the -blam!-ing timers!!!!" threads need to be made before they get the point? Jesus. This is incompetence at its finest.

Edited by DeathPony07: 12/15/2017 8:11:53 AMAll the new modifiers are -blam!-ing terrible. Heroic adventures are only on Mercury. Brilliant, Bungie. Because grinding the same 3 annoying missions over and over is so much fun, right. Every enemy can two-shot you. Our characters are weak as -blam!-. Guns suck ass. Slow cooldowns. Everything about this game is -blam!-ing terrible, slow, and weak. Only getting 2 paradox amplifiers per mission, is -blam!-ing ridiculous. You literally need hundreds of these things to forge all the guns. I'm having so much "FUN!"

2 RepliesEdited by DarkUnit529: 12/9/2017 7:50:55 AMI also dislike the timers. When I was doing the heroic version of the Up and Up, I thought I’d die if I didn’t complete it it time. But it turns out there were just reinforcements. So it wasn’t all that bad. BTW I hate burn rotation. If you’re going to make me do that then make Hard Light switch elements on the fly like the Borealis.

The timers in the Heroic Adventures are optional. There's a fallback win condition for them. From all reports I've read about both sides, beating them within the timer may just be another blue. It still gives you the engram if you beat it outside of the given time. If you're talking about the timed interactions (where you'll tick to death), the window of opportunity to interact is massive.
-
2 RepliesYup, -blam!- them. -blam!- the heroic missions with them and their gahdam bullet sponges.
-
Timed content sucks in destiny. Why do that at all doesn’t make any sense takes you out of the game really. Hate the timed shit the worst

9 RepliesThe real question, which Bungie perhaps should ask themselves, is within Destiny’s game world logic, what exactly is the reason for a timer? It’s obviously there because it’s purely a game design decision, no different than the level timers in certain Mario games, especially the early ones. But Mario, and others of that ilk, inhabit a surreal world of the impossible, where real world logic is immaterial, therefore almost anything goes in terms of game design However, this kind of approach can be jarring in a more “realistic” game like Destiny, where Bungie has created a detailed backstory and continuing narrative for everything in the game that all follow an internal logic and consistency in general terms But then, suddenly, you’ve got a timer for no logical reason - other than it being a gamification element Which brings me back to where I started. Bungie should ask themselves why is a timer there at all as a mechanism in this game’s world? What are they trying to achieve that perhaps a different, more gameworld consistent, less dissonant solution might achieve better?

Edited by SickChocThunder: 12/10/2017 2:38:22 PMAs people are twigging on, making an end boss that is challenging and tricky, is more time consuming and challenging than sticking some dumb ass timer in the game But that's the reputation Bungie is creating for itself these days Lazy programming and cheap game mechanics
-
Bump.
-
Bungie doesn't care what you think, they have proved that time and time again.

1 ReplyI tried the prestige nightfall , I don’t know, we couldn’t do it. I don’t think we were leveled up enough. You get +2 seconds for killing a enemy that takes 5 seconds to kill . Felt like pointless to try.
-
1 ReplyYeah... but... it doesn’t matter if you don’t complete it in time, doesn’t end or anything... I soloed the one I had to do for the story progression and I was just shy of the timer, if I only had a rocket It doesn’t end, I’m assuming you just get better rewards
-
1 ReplyThe timers are fine. Ending the activity is bullshit. If you beat the activity within the time you should get better rewards. FYI look up the word literally.
-
4 RepliesTimers aren't difficulty or challenging. I don't know how the timer defender sheep don't see that. Timers are ARTIFICIAL!!! It doesn't make anything CHALLENGING.
-
2 RepliesI agree. Timers are not fun. No ice breaker and ammo packs mean you can’t snipe cheese the nightfall anymore.
-
My aim is nowhere near perfect like some people seem to be in Crucible... So the timer basically makes it impossible for me to do certain things because I'm not able to crank out the damage that other people can do... I'm not sure exactly why but I guess it has to be my Aim... I don't know what else it could be maybe I should use my grenades and melee more something no idea /shrug

Edited by BIGwillestylz: 12/7/2017 1:58:09 AMCoding in a timer is simple. Adding genuine difficulty takes time and money to developers. Bungie isn’t going to do that. Less money used in the game allows for larger profits. You’ll realize who your dealing with one day. Just like you’re optimistic that bungie will get their heads out their ass. I feel same way about this community. You’ll see the lack of integrity and deceitful practices for what they really are one day. Then you’ll just walk away and only visit the forums hoping for news that the game improved but it never happens
-
Fortunately, the heroic adventure timers expiration does not end the activity. Get some friends and try it then. But I do agree, I hate timers.
-
As it's been stated before, timers are a boring artificial difficulty that were added instead of creative and challenging modifiers. I also feel that timers take up more time than being without them. If I only have an hour to play then I'm not looking to run a NF due to the fact that if something stupid happens (getting kicked, bumbling fireteam members, general other glitches) then I'm just going to be wasting my time. Yes, this is the standpoint of a casual, also known as having a life.
-
Hate the timers! I don’t like rushing in order to artificially create difficultly. Having 2 primaries, 1 grenade, 1 super every 20 mins is difficult enough lol.
-
8 RepliesI don't normally have an issue with timers but 5 minutes for a heroic adventure when I'm playing by myself is pretty impossible on top of the other modifiers in play
-
8 RepliesTimers = Not Fun = Fact

5 RepliesEdited by Gorlin Goltz: 12/7/2017 3:04:02 AMThe new Heroic adventures were the tipping point. Upon hearing the line "By the way, the Vex have you on a time limit," and watching as I was given a 6-minutes timer to complete the rest of the adventure, the last of my faith in Bungie died.
-
4 RepliesI am with you. One of the reasons I stopped playing the game in general is the nightfall is no longer something I enjoy doing. I HATE timers and don't want them. Bungie clearly ins't getting rid of them. So i haven't been playing. The Nightfall was the one thing I would come back for every week. it says I last played 10/21/2017 but don't remember doing so. Haven't even touched the DLC yet.

Edited by GeoffvsGeoff: 12/7/2017 6:01:56 PMI completely agree with ya, it is pathetic and nobody likes them. Bungie has stuffed up this feature of adding timers, it takes away from the fun and enjoyment, now it is stressful and we are over it in our clan. Get rid of them I say If they want to make Nightfall hard, then make the enemies difficult and remove the timers, am fed up with having to rush something that I used to enjoy but now Bungie have no ears as they are not hearing the community. I think they actually want to kill of Destiny because it is so full of faults. I regret buying the new version at times, what a waste of money, oh well, we just have to come to the truth that Bungie no wants to help it's player base. Rather than that, they must feel the need to restrict it's players so they can leave. BRING ON ANTHEM!!!!
-
The timers were the icing on the tombstone for me. What a HORRID idea. Nightfall used to be my favorite activity from vanilla.
-
Yip they couldn't come up with decent modifiers so they slapped a timer on everything.
