Is CSU California or Colorado?
California has great city schools and jr colleges. They're easy to get into, cheaper, and work closely with other CSU and UC schools so your credits transfer easily.

It applies pretty much anywhere with cities and neighboring cities that are home to state universities. The community and city colleges all have smooth and highly trafficked transfer programs.
