You're describing your ideal game, not something that would have mass appeal. They'd scare the pants off of newbies if they came out of the gate with a game that complex. People need time to get a grip on what's there first. I'm confident the game will evolve over time.

How is that complex? Its the end game that you focus on. The game currently is just fine for an entry level into what Destiny can become. Its time for them to start pushing further into the end game. Its been 3 years of near stagnation by this "simplifying things". There is a point where if you make things to simple, you lose anykind of interest in playing. Say hello to Guild Wars 2. It was a dumb down, casual MMO player's wet dream. Yet shortly after release, they realized how shallow the game was, the playerbase didn't just tank. It died overnite. Now, they are trying to appeal to the players that are the lifeblood of every game. The hardcore's that stuck around. Guild wars 2 has now grown back to a respectable number, but is still behind WoW and FFXIV which both made sure to have a complex endgame once you reach the point. Its not to have the entire end game rely on complexity, to alienate, but you build it up overtime.

Right. And I'm still confident that D2 will get there. As an mmo vet, it's hard to appreciate how complicated games like this one appear to people with little or no experience with complex systems. It's intimidating. Give the new blood time to adjust. D1 was way too complicated in the beginning and that scared a lot of people away.

Lol. Destiny is a game for babies. Real gamers just look at it and laugh. Destiny had no future until it tells all the casuals to 'get good'. The idea that any game will survive if geared twords casuals is almost as funny a joke.

Another way to say "casual" is "most people". Casuals make games profitable.
