Dying is the mark of failing to meet the expectations set by an activity, so to state that one would "die a lot" would be the same as saying that you'll fail to beat the activity a lot, which seems that the activity is designed to be more difficult.
Isn't the whole design point of the raid to be a difficult multi-player activity? Are the devs not allowed to remark that they think the activity will be difficult?

Wouldn’t it be nice if the difficulty came from a tough boss we fought with powerful weapons and abilities rather than a measure of our ability to synchronize swim?

Say that to the double pulse grenade wielding striker Titan who doubles over the damage of a guy who shows up up for the raid with an attitude of “meh none of the guns in this game matter”. I’ve seen numbers on Calus comparable, if not higher than anything in Destiny. Also take it up with the warlock who kills two of the dogs in the pleasure gardens, on prestige mode using the sun breakers, along with an outfit that speeds up grenade recharge time and the raid sword. Without tapping into the power that this game has to offer, I wouldn’t be carrying people and new clan members through the raid weekly. Yeah you can show up to the raid with whatever and get it done... just like you could in D1, But I guarantee you that There are at least two guys in the raid utilizing powerful weapons that exist in the game, you just have to get over, and learn to accept change.

Not drinking the Kool-Aid. Want to compare apples to apples? Compare this raid to VoG when it premiered. You wouldn’t be talking this nonsense about carrying level 27’s through hard mode. They would inevitably die before they could be any help, and god help your team if they were teleported in and had to kill oracles in the final fight. Same for Crota hard mode early on. That low-level person dies and it spawns an Oversoul, and they will die if they stay in the open at all. We used to just tuck that guy inside and let the rest of us try to 5-man. Other than suggesting you know how to manage the weapon system better than anyone else, do you not realize how you make my point? The difficulty of this raid is not in the fighting but in coordinated dance moves. I hit over a million with nothing more than grenades and No Mercy - and that’s a warlock. I could do that at 265 as well as 305 in regular mode - no difference. I know what the game is or isn’t. Think I’ll speak my mind regardless of your tender feelings on the issue.

Edited by Synge_X: 11/21/2017 2:37:34 AMPerhaps my response came off a bit more snarky than intended, so I will ignore the personal insults and negative implications. I’ll have to apologize, for misunderstanding what you were saying. Your comment was very specific towards the OP, in which you stated that you wish that we were able to complete the raid by using powerful weapons and abilities.... however, your response to me seems more in relation to how much light level means, in terms of our contribution to the raid. I do not have time to go back and provide evidence proof that my clan completed VOG hard mode raid a day after release, and none of us were an optimal light level, much less carrying a 27(on top of carrying players even lower)... nor do I feel it would be fruitful in terms of you understanding what I’m trying to say. So instead, let’s find some common ground. I personally miss The raid specific perks on the weapons and gear. The feeling of progressing in power as you collected your full set of gear and weapons in the vault of glass was most certainly extremely fun and rewarding. I hope they bring this element back into the game and even expand on it in the future. Peace.

I appreciate the olive branch, and perhaps I did misread your tone, so allow me to apologize for my comment. What I was referring to, then and now, is this raid, and indeed all of D2, is gutted. Because of the limitations of a two-primary system end game content is altered for the worse. Nightfalls rely on timers to create difficulty, and the raid relies on mechanics. The raid in particular I’ve described thusly: In terms of difficulty it’s the easiest raid yet. In terms of demanding mechanics it’s the hardest raid yet. I preferred it when the end game depended more on power and less on mechanics. I also like earning rewards that were worth the effort. Going through a raid, especially a Prestige raid, for nothing but gear no more powerful than what I can get at a vendor seems pointless. Maybe I’m petty for wanting quality end game rewards, but I do.

The difficulty can come from both of those aspects.

Well of course, and it should. But you have to admit the pendulum has swung hard to one side.

Exactly. In the current Leviathan Raid, yes, quite often the whole team dies alot, because of a) one single person not being perfect or b) some stupid Bungie glitch because they can't get their stupid net code straightened out. I expect more of the same - the player at pushbutton 5 was 2 milliseconds too slow pushing it, team wipe!
