I bought 15 lottery tickets and still haven’t won the jackpot. Obviously broken. Please fix.

There are people on this thread who have turned in 30, 45, even 50+ packages and still haven't gotten the things they wanted. So how about instead of playing the lottery we implement a rewards system that actually rewards you for playing the game and lets you work towards something you want? I'd rather grind for a week to be guaranteed to get a gun that I want than have it be completely random and have it drop in 3 days or 3 months.

So, on one hand people are upset that we lost the D1 grind, and on the other you are advising getting rid of it’s last vestige?

Let people buy weapons and gear with set rolls from the vendors using faction tokens. Reintroduce faction rep and have weapons and gear with random rolls drop from rank-up packages. The faction rally winner is decided by which faction has the most rank-ups by the end of the week. This way the people who want to use the guns can just buy them and the people who want to farm for god rolls can do that via rank-up packages. I actually like grinding, but at least this way I won't be f*cked in the ass when the game decides not to drop a gun that I want because I can just buy one, even if it's not the perfect roll I wanted.

You mean the same set roll that people think destroy the grind? And did you miss all the people here saying they dislike the tokens over random drops? You are arguing for proceeding in the direction Bungie is already going and has the D1 players up in arms and playing far less than the used to because those move made the end game boring and basically nonexistent. I don’t think you are paying attention to the issues the veteran players are bringing up.
You mean the same set roll that people think destroy the grind? And did you miss all the people here saying they dislike the tokens over random drops?
People dislike the token system because grinding for tokens is boring and at the end of it they aren't even guaranteed to get the thing that they want. Plus they drop at lower light levels which makes the endgame even more pointless because half of your loot for an activity (i.e the raid and trials) is dropping below your light level.
You are arguing for proceeding in the direction Bungie is already going...
Not really.
...and has the D1 players up in arms and playing far less than the used to...
You mean players like me? Players who sunk 5000+ hours into D1 and yet stopped playing D2 within a month because it's a boring, watered down version of it's predecessor. Those kind of players?
...because those move made the end game boring and basically nonexistent.
Static gun rolls are only a small part of the reason why endgame is so pointless right now. The main factor is the introduction of milestones, the token system, removal of activity-specific perks, and lack of unique/meaningful reward for completing content (especially flawless passages and the prestige raid).
I don’t think you are paying attention to the issues the veteran players are bringing up.
I am a "veteran player", and I am painfully aware of the problems this game is suffering from. One of those problems is the game showering you with duplicates of items you already have and not rewarding you with the ones you don't because of it's RNG-based loot system. The system I'm proposing keeps things interesting and players invested by re-introducing random rolls but prevents the game from f*cking you over by letting you buy guns that you want from vendors so at least you have it, even if it's not the roll you wanted.
