The Traveler created it.
The ammonites and whatnot never got Ghosts because the Traveler fled instead of staying and sacrificing itself like it did here.
That does leave the other question though... why did it choose us?

My whole point is tho, what is that was a lie? Our records are flawed, incomplete, inaccurate. Just cause it was in the grimorie cards doesn't mean it was true... maybe 😉

If you can find the evidence more than just "clovis made the ghosts that use the light" then it could be true.
