Throne of Tyranny dropped out last minute though. Some other band (which I'm trying to find) filled in. Truth be told, I only heard of like ~ 4 of the bands and only really went for Archspire, but I enjoyed myself regardless. There was nothing that played that I didn't headbang to for at least a bit. It's funny though, some people act like they're afraid to enjoy themselves at shows, even for bands they want to see. On a sidenote, everyone of those bands needs to get the in house sound guy to set the vocal mix to max or something, 'cause for some of the bands, it was nearly impossible to hear the vocalist...

Oooh a festival, nice one! Yeah I don’t recognise any of those bands, but then again a) judging from the logos they look like Death/Grindcore bands and that’s not really my scene, and b) I imagine they’re mostly local-ish American bands which being in another country I wouldn’t really be exposed to. And, yeah, vocals can be a bitch live. I guess outdoor acoustics must just be really difficult to master.

  •
judging from the logos they look like Death/Grindcore bands
Pretty spot on, more or less.
I imagine they’re mostly local-ish American bands which being in another country I wouldn’t really be exposed to.
For the most part, yeah. Some of them are from right here in California, but Archspire is from Vancouver, B.C, Defeated Sanity from Germany, Dyscarnate from UK (they put on the best performance imo, everything was perfect. I regret having left out while they were setting up 'cause I missed some it).
And, yeah, vocals can be a bitch live. It was one of the things I was pretty disappointed about, 'cause each one of them had the vocal skills (even if some of them do need a little work on their enunciation) but you could hardly hear them over the instruments.
