Elex is cool, but its hard as hell. Combat with most enemies is impossible until youre like level 12 so to explore you have to agressively evade enemies. This turns a lot of people away from what is essentially a proper RPG.

I couldn't outright recommend it, I feel like the game is pretty polarizing. It has a surprising amount of depth and doesn't hold your hand at all. The dialogue is what I dig the most, you've gotta talk to everyone and they all have their own virtual feelings to hurt lol. People remember what you tell them and even side missions can branch off in multiple ways depending on how you wanna handle shit. The game feels generic at times and the protagonist is set, no choosing a gender and name and all that. There's more to say but I don't know if you want me to ramble. 😂

I've kept it on my wishlist for now. I'm gonna look into it more next year when I have less to play. I didn't realise it was made by the same people as Gothic and Risen, though. That's pretty cool!

That's what I'm talking about, it has a good team behind it! Some shit is really clunky or quirky (ie the jetpack) but the game feels intuitive under everything. Wouldn't put it next to Gothic but I definitely enjoy it.
