I still say we should have been able to give Eris a ship. Not like we didn't have a frickin' fleet of them.

Well I would’ve given Eris a ship, but Cayde is the one who owes it to her so I’m gonna let him pay for his mistake

It wasn't a mistake, it was a sacrifice for a greater good. But since I have half a dozen ships (including a Light of the Abyss that looked just like the one that blew up) and Eris had one, better for me to eat the cost.
