I wanted to add my name to the growing list. I have done pretty much the same troubleshooting as yourself and am having the same issue. I've been pulling my hair out wondering why my new build was acting so strange with this game. I've installed Destiny 2 to three different hard drives with the same issues across the board.

I am having a similar issue. I was just now able to DL the game and have not even been able to fully log in. I get to the Character Select screen and the game freezes and then crashes without a reason. I have a nice Gaming Laptop and still not able to run this game at all. I am ready to ask for my money back. I have not even been able to pick a Guardian. This means every time i start it I have to watch the into I have it almost memorized.
