A lot of people in general like sex, and that includes women. There are just two catches to that which society tends to forget: 1) It's generally frowned upon for a woman to be outward about enjoying sex (as it would make her a "slut" or something similar) 2) Liking sex doesn't mean you like sex with everybody. Even a woman who is hugely into sex isn't going to mount any guy who looks at her funny if she's not attracted to him, just like how guys don't tend to want to sleep with women they aren't attracted to (many men complain about overweight women, for example).

 • That's a really dumb concept. If I ever get married, I would hope that she enjoys sex.

 •
That's a really dumb concept. There's a saying "lady on the streets, vixen in the sheets" which gets society's expectations across well. Luckily, this is a dying expectation, but it's still there.

 • That being said, I believe that sex should be monogamous, so maybe I'm part of the problem.

Just gotta find somebody like you and not try to force your views on everybody. You're not wrong for preferring monogamy at all; some folks just don't like to do that is all.

 • I can agree with that. What bothers me is the fact that abstinence is so widely mocked. Shouldn't people who sleep around be mocked the same, regardless of gender?

Shouldn't people who sleep around be mocked the same, regardless of gender?
Personally, I don't think so. I mean, if people want to be abstinent that's fine, but there's nothing wrong with enjoying sex (provided it's legal, of course). Now, there are certainly sex addicts and the like out there, but just liking to have sex a lot and legally engaging in that isn't inherently bad. It brings people pleasure and, even if you don't do it all the time, sexual compatibility is a huge part of relationship success (in most cases, but definitely not all) so it's important to make sure that you know you're right for each other earlier rather than later. And I'm not trying to hark on religion or anything. If you want to abstain until marriage for religious purposes that's fine too. Again, it's all about finding somebody you're compatible with.

Some people are going to have casual sex and even if I could do something about it, I really don't have the right to. But as long as society thinks it's okay to make fun of people who wait until marriage for religious reasons but expect the opposite treatment, it's going to bother me.

Nothing wrong with abstinence.
