Following this guys idiotic Eurogamer statement, he made the decision to take Elemental Primaries away. Invalidating the promise that our time would be respected. So, for a year, we did the grind to get weapons that we knew would never be taken away because of a promise from Bungie. Then, they took those weapons away. When fan anger exploded, his response was that they are never coming back, ever. That was Luke Smith.
Now, every single thing that's wrong with Destiny 2 is Luke Smith. (The good things too I guess. Are there any good things?) He is the reason we don't have random rolls. He is the reason we can't choose our Crucible type. He is the cause of every single thing that's wrong with the worlds worst game sequel.
And what kind of statement does this fool make in response to this? He's happy that so many people have reached the "Level Cap". Well, that's 20, so that's nothing to be proud of. That's horrible design that allowed that. He think he did the right thing for the "Collection Game". No, Luke, no. You did the exact opposite of what you should have done with the collection game. It's exactly as bad as it could be, it literally can't be worse.
This guy should have been fired after the Eurogamer statement. Failing that, he should have been fired after the Elemental Primary controversy. He certainly should be fired now.
If I was an investor, I would get as far away from Bungie/Activision as possible. They've got no clue what they're doing. Getting rid of the guy that destroyed Destiny would go a long way toward restoring our faith in this awful company.

Kudos in that awesome post...im so with you...i officially Deleted D2 today..bungie will get nothing from me again till this trash fire goes on sale with all the dlc included..my whole friends list gas defected in masse, not for petty reasons but because, it's the same crap frst all over again and we refuse to devote any more time to this lack luster repetitive piece of fluff...no challenge no variety no more lore or story(has more than D1, D1 had none, soooo) nerfed dumbed down gameplay...and these guys have the nerve to call us embittered and whiney After 3 and a half years we have reason.. F.U. bungie...I prey Anthem burns you to the ground.
-
I meant Bungie delayed pc release.
-
On the same boat as well. I wrote in this forum about a month ago, stating how D2 is trash and I was laughed at in this forum. I have been a devoted fan of Bungie since Halo and played D1 since it’s alpha build. *Become your own legend* was the premise of what D1 was all about. This is why I kept playing D1 for almost 3years! The grind were real but for the most part, satisfying. Why? *Specific Strike loot *Different rolls (perks) on armours and weapons *Endgame were fun and rewarding * movement were much faster and had better momentum *your own personal build to suit play style *IB was great but apparently those Iron Lords never existed except for one. This game is like a wounded beast, it’s bleeding to death. It’s also a bit fishy that. Invite delayed they’re pc release so that gamers will spend cash on console version and pc. Bungie, WTF!
-
I second that prayer. May Anthem close the doors of Bungie Studios forever. (Unless Bungie gets their act together and stops being idiots)
-
Let the revolt Bogin!!
-
Elemental primaries being gone was the right choice and most agreed lol you make it sound so bad but only idiots cared.
-
Ok why was it the right choice in D1?
-
Don't feed the troll. If he had a point, he would have made it. All he wanted to do was piss us off. It didn't work on my, I don't get pissed off by idiots. Don't let him win.
-
You should still explain WHY taking away elemental primaries is bad
-
Why do I need to explain why I don't want the stuff that I earned to be taken away? Fine, I'll bite.
The last thing we wanted was for you to look at your favorite gun or helmet and decide that it had become obsolete. Since the reveal, we’ve read a lot of ideas for how this could have been done better. Your feedback is clear: The time you have invested in your stuff should be respected.
Remember that? That's why. I, and many others, went into activities based on that promise. We expected to keep the things we earned, FOR ALL 10 YEARS! Instead, it was all taken away after just a year. They took my favorite gun, the VoC. I used this gun for everything. It was fun for me. I could have used it all 10 years and been happy. I didn't need another gun. I put in hundreds of hours with just that one gun. "But Qeylis, wouldn't you get bored using the same gun for 10 years?" No, random voice in my head! I would not get bored. As I said, I loved using it. It was fun.

Are u in drugs?
-
A wild troll appears!
-
You know what I thought was funny when the elemental primaries went away? They had absolutely no effect in crucible. Fatebringer, VoC, etc didn’t create a burn or a AoE. They shined in PvE but who cares, that was part of the fun! Did the dreg get on forums and ask for nerfs? I don’t recall any posts from crucible players complaining about elemental legendary primaries because the element had no effect in crucible. So it made no logical sense to take them away.
-
So true! It made no sense at all. It was also a little funny how a tiny portion of the community supported this idiotic decision. The Hyper Fanboys would always be there to comment on our trending posts about how we were stupid to care that they took away a thing that I worked for. It had no effect on them whatsoever, but they still felt the need to troll us. But, we've got Elemental Primaries back, sort of. After they made another very bad decision to take all our Destiny 1 gear away. But, that could have been forgivable if Destiny 2 was good. Since it's not, it can't be forgiven. Fire Luke.

Good point
-
I will not get on that bandwagon as I believe there is more going on then just the decisions of one person.
-
Like what? What type of things do you think are going on? Why do you think that the Director wouldn't be the primary voice in those decisions?
-
I think their are also direction issues being placed on them by Activision. I personally think this was a bad marriage for them. Not saying that another company would have been better but I feel like Activision has much more influence then they probably should and that limits Bungie.
-
That could be true, but if that was the reason that there's no endgame, random rolls, proper skill tree and Crucible choice, what does Activision gain? How does making Destiny 2 as bad as possible make money for Activision? I get that they could sell more DLC if the base game didn't quite fit what the customers wanted. But if the base game is pure, distilled trash, why would anyone buy the DLC? Since we are way further on the Trash side of the scale, it would seem like Activision would start actively "Encouraging" Bungie to fix the game right now, so that people will buy the DLC. But that's not the reaction we're seeing. Instead, we see Luke Smith saying what a good job they did. He said that he's proud that so many people have reached the level cap (which is 20, that's nothing to brag about). He said he still believes he did the right thing for the collection game, even though the vast majority of the community is telling him he didn't. If Activision wants money, they should be shutting this idiot up. I do think Activision has some culpability for the state of this POS game. I don't think it's nearly as much as the community thinks it is. I think it's about 70% Luke Smith's fault this game sucks. 15% Activision (Mostly microtransactions and one use shaders). And 15% incompetence from Bungie.

I am ignorant on his latest comments so I apologize. I am not up on any social media platforms so I wasn’t aware of any of the latest and greatest plus I decided to take a break from D2 as I feel the same as many other players including yourself on the “state of the game” and started playing Shadow of War.
-
Is it any good? I think I heard something about microtransactions destroying it. Am I thinking of the right game?
-
There is micros but that is overblown, they are not needed you earn enough game currency plus you can earn gold coins (real money) to buy chests too but none of that is even needed. If you played the first one (SoM) and enjoyed it you will probably like this one too, probably more so. The Nemesis system is really unique this time around with some pretty humorous dialog. There is much more depth this time around. For example there is base sub skills you can unlock with a skill point then their is three tiers on each sub skill that you can select to enhance the skill. Weapons and armor on legendary items have a path to level up with you plus they have gear set bonuses ala Diablo & Division. I could go on but for $60 it is a good buy. As a matter of fact, probably getting the expansion pack as I am enjoying it so much. Only on act 2 so haven’t even got through the story and endgame which I have read is really when the game gets interesting.
-
Okay, that sounds pretty good. I'll have to check it out. Thanks!
-
One last thing, it doesn’t have a traditional multiplayer mode but they do have these vendetta missions that show up and it will say avenge the death of “steelassassin43”, for example. And you go fight a the captain that bested that player. If you are successful you and the person you avenged get chests - the same ones that are on the micro table. That is fun and interesting.
