Ok Ill start off by saying I am not the greatest PVP player on Earth, but I am decent, maybe good even. I made flawless several times in destiny 1 and have over 70 Trials wins in Destiny 2 with a positive K/D ratio.
I have not been able to get a flawless run yet and its only for one factor: paid carries. They are advertised constantly on the LFG boards. Every time I get a group that gets to 5 or so wins we go against one of the paid teams with literally hundreds of Trials wins. At 5-0 last night we went against a team where one guy had 332 trials wins. Clan of three carrying one non clanmate. Even if it wasn't a paid carry its still a carry. This goes on way too much.
Its an easy fix. Simply let each character participate in Trials until they get flawless that week and then lock them out. Let them run it three times on three characters that's fine but there needs to be some limit.
You could alternatively only match a team that contains a flawless player for that week with other teams that have at least one flawless player. Theres no way only the smallest percentage of people should have any chance of success playing professional players.
Please Bungie correct this. Trials is in such a horrible state right now.

10 RepliesOk first off, Bungie has a LOT more issues in D2 to deal with than your reasoning as to why you cant get flawless. Second: Paid carries are not a bad thing. There are people in this game that are (sorry) but god awful at crucible, that want to either get the loot, have fun, or complete Trials just once for the sake of just having it done and out of the way. And for some a carry may be the only way. Also if you're good at something, why do it for free when you can get paid to? Third: I HIGHLY doubt that paid carries are the sole reason as to why you can't make it to 7-0. Maybe you weren't playing well, maybe your team wasn't competent enough, perhaps you didn't work well together, maybe a teammate/you got kicked. There are numerous reasons as to why a Trials passage may not succeed. So blaming people who do, not only paid carries but carries for free, for your inability to make it flawless is simply immature and irresponsible. Fourth: The people who do paid and free carries are taking time out of their day to help out a fellow guardian or friend. So blaming somebody who not only is willing, but wants to help someone out, for your incompetence, shows a whole lot about your character. Fifth: Make it so people can only do a limited amount of Trials runs? You can't be serious? One, Trials is fun for a lot of people, fun to play and fun to watch. Also that would be limiting content and replayability, something that is already lacking in D2, so that will literally never happen. Lastly: I cannot stress enough that blaming others for YOU not completing a task is something you have to avoid. Perhaps you need to take a look at the way you play, the weapons you use, the people you choose to be on your team. They don't always need to be top tier players. Synergy on a team is going to be much more effective than one amazing player, trust me. And it's okay to ask an experienced pvper what you should be running in Trials, or how you should be playing a certain map, etc. I know my comments were rather blunt, but I sincerely do hope you find your way to the Spire. Stay Frosty Guardian.

6 RepliesMatchmaking is the problem. I head into trials with three players that had just unlocked trials Monday night, and I've yet to win a match. We are matched to a team that all have the trials wins emblem equipped. They collectively had over 900 trials wins between them. Full set of hunters with trials gear. We were destroyed. Credit to those guys for mastering the map and their loadouts. But how about a little fairness to start off with. Not sure what "evaluating guardians" even means.

6 RepliesEdited by Im Mr G J Jones: 10/12/2017 12:23:25 AMI completely agree. Players that get flawless should be locked out. They've proven themselves to be good, now give us a chance. 😆 It would definitely stop paid carries (which is a bannable offense). I'm tired of reporting them and nothing being done.

10 RepliesPeople have been requesting this since Trials started back in HoW. Typically the moment someone even tries to suggest that trials should be "competitive" by matching players of similar levels of skill they get downvoted and told to "git gud"
-
If idiots want to pay money, how can you stop them?

These ideas had been brought up 92847483939 times and it will never be implemented... Pitiful

I feel like paid carries should violate the ToS somehow. It actually might, but who actually reads those things.

21 RepliesThe way I see it if you go flawless once you should go against others that are flawless from there on out. Ranked style playlist

You're pathetic

6 RepliesEdited by Mahntle: 10/11/2017 8:49:15 PMAll this post says is "im not good enough to beat better players than me so instead of making me get better by matching me up against decent players, just give me easier players to beat. Im not good enough but im still entitled to everything i want." Stop trying to force your ideas on others because you're garbage and learn to shoot straight so you can hold your own. Im completely against paid carries but its not my money so i dont decide what to do with it. I play only when my friends get on (which is rarely since there is almost nothing to do) but i still only have two losses in trials out of around 60 matches and went flawless on all characters every time. Its all just trying to get better with your teammates. I beat guys with 3+ kd and shit on their chest because im simply better and know how to flank, maneuver and pinch with my teammates. Just find decent people or get better yourself.

I went up against the 57th best player I the world the other day... he had a 99% win rate for just trials alone. He literally got over 95% of the kills that match. His teammates ended up only having 1-3 kills at the end of the match while he had 25-30. I'd be super shocked if that wasn't a paid flawless.
-
I tried trials just to get one win so I could go to the spire and talk to the Emissary for the achievement. I literally want nothing out of Trials except that achievement. And the sad thing is I can never even get that single win to get to the Spire to talk to the chick... And yes I'm not that great at PVP, obviously...

6 RepliesLocking out characters who go flawless isn't a reasonable solution: Sherpas can just reset the card so that only the carry actually goes flawless. I understand that playing carry teams can be frustrating because it might not seem like the carry "deserves" the flawless, but I would much rather play a carry team than a stacked 4-man. When the carry is particularly unskilled, the game is essentially a 3 v. 4. If not for carries, there would be many more insanely stacked teams.
-
flawless is a joke now anyway.. you're not getting anything better by going, just join a clan of people that do go flawless grab your pos gun from Hawthorne and move on, nothing is adept the armor is white instead of white and black and there is no grimoire tied to it so why do you care?
-
The reason paid carries are a thing is because of what you are talking about. Half the playerbase cant go flawless, so they pay for it. There are only two options if its not possible to go flawless...... 1. Pay for it And 2. Dont play trials (my personal favorite)
-
I have another solution, and just hear me out on this one
git gud
4 RepliesI have simple comparison, is it fair if a professional NFL team goes against a college football team?
-
Bungie should put that into the mix when matchmaking. teams that are winning all games should get matched with teams that are winning all games so less teams do actually go flawless. Then most of these paid services will fail.
-
2 RepliesThey won't lock anybody out of playing a game mode because they've already completed it. Ruins the idea of replayability, also would you rather play 4 3.0 players or 3 3.0's and a 0.5? Or 2 3.0's and 2 0.5's? Honestly If you're having trouble beating carry team's which are essentially 3v4/2v4 you should focus more on getting better, and less on trying to restrict these players from helping people and playing a game they played for.
-
HERES why that wont work.........Players ( PROS, Streamers, MlGers) @ 8 wins or less just simply reset the card and continue with the carry. They will always find a way around that dude... It might just be impossible to go flawless until you just, forgive me for saying, "Get Good" as the MLGers say. I suck and pvp in destiny is not the worst. There is no point to trials armor or weapons when clearly other legendaries in the game are better anyways. Its all cosmetics. Cheer up kid. Its not the end of the world.

16 RepliesLocking out is not the answer, some people like playing trials Over and over. Matching flawless runners with similar teams that also have flawless runners would be the better solution, a fairer more competitive game for all.
-
2 RepliesEdited by name: 10/11/2017 9:38:32 AMI will pay $2 for a story mode carry

2 RepliesWhat really is your issue with "normal" carries? I do carries with some of my friends for people in my clan that otherwise might not ever make it, or they might, who knows? But its an extra challenge for us, its MORE fun than running stacked, like a lot more fun. I'm no mlg player, but its so much fun seeing that carry make a sweet play, or shutdown a super, or feel good about contributing to the card. We've actually had guys apologize when they die. Why? Its part of the game, we're all having fun and doing our best as a team... I just don't understand where u are coming from, or what you hope to gain by limiting competition.
-
or do as a good amount of would think it fair if they go flawless or if they have a * ton of wins put them in a special tier that makes it so they have to work really hard.

Great idea!
